Debian noroot is a free productivity tool from Commander Genius. This basically installs the Debian Buster with the Xface desktop environment without the need to root the device. DebianBuster is the development codename for the 10th iteration of Debian, a free-to-use operating system developed on the Linux environment. However, this is not the full OS. Instead, this is a compatibility layer with limited functionality.

Despite being compiled for mobile, Debian noroot has full support for a mouse or stylus for easier access. In essence, this works similarly to Bluestacks Emulator Launcher for Windows or Cider APK for emulating the iOS environment.

I'm trying to use Debian noroot to access CLI Linux capabilities through android but I can't type anything. The android keyboard doesn't appear when I click on a text box, I see a little button on the side that looks like a keyboard but it doesn't do anything when I touch it and with my "mouse" the cursor doesn't even acknowledge its existence. Any help or meaningful response is really appreciated, thanks

I figured any apps I use on my Raspberry pi 4 should run OK on my Android phone, I'm using Debian noroot and not sure how to find the same apps I use on Raspberry pi (Aseprite, blender, Libreoffice and a few others), have the Synaptic package manager and it's just confusing me to hell and back, am I barking up the wrong tree here?

Sergii, the guy who developed Xserver XSDL, has also created a complete Debian Buster XFCE desktop, bundled with Xserver XSDL, as an Android APK package. It is simply a matter of install, tap the "debian" icon, and the Debian desktop is up and running.

There is an Xserver XSDL APK file for Android, that I installed for the termux tests, however the Debian noroot APK has the X server builtin, so it is standalone. So, I uninstalled Xserver XSDL (and Android Xserver), and installed this, from the Google Play Store:

However, back to only 16GB internal storage. Have installed a few apps, including a GPS offline mapping app, and of course Debian-noroot and Gimp/Inkscape, and Settings is now showing 10GB used. Need to be careful not to run out of internal storage!

It has been fun getting Debian-noroot running on the tablet. An extremely restricted environment of course, but I can see the usefulness of Gimp and Inkscape to provide superior image editing. Maybe more uses, we shall see.

First of all, you need to go to the Play Store and install the app, Debian noroot. This is an operating system based on Linux, and lets you install free, open-source software on it like LibreOffice, GIMP, the IceWeasel web browser, and hundreds more programs. Debian noroot installs Debian 7.0 Wheezy on your Android device, an 'oldstable' version of Debian that still receives security updates and can install programs through APT (Advanced Package Tool).

Once you've downloaded Debian noroot from the Play Store, open it, then wait as it fully installs all the packages. When that's done, Debian should open, letting you drag a mouse cursor around a desktop-type interface.

Second when you start the app.place your phone on the flat surface for calibrating your gyrosopce sensor . After calibration in your display willshow the extraction progress % of the task .then the app display the (maybe) log of installation progress. When successfully it will display the screen resolution and font size .If you wish to change the resolution (downscale only) or font size (mine use x0.8) after done this the screen will show the loading screen (green fonts) .it might take some minute after all you can get to the debian compatible layer .

My phone is Huawei Mate 8 (NXT-L29), latest version of Android Marshmallow and Emotion UI, not rooted, bootloader locked. Today I plugged in a Samsung 128GB level 10 microSD card I got from Amazon. Everything works, speed is good and I loaded some movies on it with my PC. I then switched default storage from Internal Memory to Samsung SD Card in the phone settings. I managed to move my photos and music to the SD Card using Huawei File Manager. Now, every third party app I try (including PPSSPP, ES File Manager Pro, EMUI Theme Editor, Debian noroot for Android and more) only detect the SD card as media (even if the most apps themselves actually are in the Internal Storage along with their data). With ES File Manager Pro, going in either /storage or /storage/emulated I only find the respectively the SD Card as a folder and nothing in emulated. Why is this happening? I still have some files (including Minecraft PE saves) that I'd like to open (not copy) directly from Internal Memory. The only app seeing my Phone Internal Storage is the Huawei pre-installed File Manager. How do I mount/access Phone Internal Memory without rooting? e24fc04721
