For Mac Users:

Please note that Control Center 4 is Windows software and is not designed for Mac; it is recommended in downloading the Brother iPrint and Scan app.

Should you still have access to ControlCenter 2, download the scanner software for Mac, including ControlCenter2 if applicable, please click here, then select your model of machine, select your version of the Mac OS and select scanner driver. For detailed instructions click here.

Brother Control Center app has apparently finally stopped working, as of macOS 15 Catalina, which no longer supports 32-bit software. I have used Control Center for scanning documents for years, and now I'm stuck. Luckily I can still use Control Center Printer/Scanner to run the scanner and put the scans on the Desktop, but I miss the ability to name the file with date and time, which gives a little structure to multiple scans sitting on the Desktop. Is there another app I can use, or another way of thinking about the problem?

I went onto Apps on MacOS and downloaded Brother iPrint&Scan for MacOS and set that up. Works perfectly in every sense. Placed the icon in the bar, and its been perfect in every respect, with scanning and printing completely controlled and transparent.

Thank you so much for mentioning VueScan. I was distressed, to say the least, at losing scanning via Brother's Control Center/Twain. The solutions were all inadequate until I saw you post. VueScan is better than Control Center and well worth the price for the professional version, $85 or so There's a lesser version for $49.

I have two MFC laser printers, work and home, that I rely on. I was not thrilled by the prospect of buying new printers just to scan with Catalina and I was daunted at the hassle of downgrading to Mojave. Again thanks so much.

HackerGuardian Standard PCI Scanner allows you to perform an unlimited number of on-demand PCI scans per quarter on up to 5 different IP addresses. The PCI scanner conducts 30,000+ individual vulnerability tests, ensuring that every inch of your website is safe and compliant. Plus, more tests are constantly being added as new threats emerge.

Comodo knows how painful PCI compliance can be, which is why they created HackerGuardian Standard PCI scanning and a self-assessment questionnaire via the wizard tool to help make your path to PCI compliance as painless as possible. The HackerGuardian PCI scanning tool scans your externally-facing IPs, generates reports detailing any vulnerability found, and provides actionable steps to fix detected issues. When a scan is complete, a ready-to-submit report is generated, making quarterly PCI compliance a breeze.

That was helpful - it was a more complete set of installation instructions than I had. In particular, it said to reboot the machine after installation of the drivers. Unfortunately, nothing changed after I rebooted. So I am only assuming that my current drivers are up to date. I admit to being confused, though, because the release dates for the Control Center (i.e., scanner driver - it is an all-in-one machine) and printer driver I downloaded were both in October 2018, and my Control center copyright date is 2016. I guess as long as it continues to work, though, I am OK.

I have a multi purpose printer/scanner Brothers machine, a MFC-9340CDW installed on my windows 10 PC. All features were installed and working correctly. But when I added my other Brothers scanner, an ADS-2000, suddenly I can only scan with it. Can the Brothers Control Center 4 software support 2 separate, or duplicate scanners and allow users to select between them? I have the latest firmware and software drivers for both machines downloaded from the Brothers web site. Advanced Mode on CC4 does not seem to help with this either.

I have the same problem as Frances.

I remember a few years back I had the same problem when Outlook 2010 (or was it 2007) came out. I could not get Brother Control Center to scan to email. The solution at that time was a driver update from Brother.

I just recently picked up a Brother ADS-3600W scanner. It works great except when I try and use the control centre 4 to scan to a Searchable PDF, I get the .NET error pasted below. Everything scans fine, the file is created & searchable, but I get this error 1-2 x after a scan, and it is really annoying. This is on a new computer that pretty much only has a browser, and the Brother scanner driver & bundled apps installed on it.

Odd, I don't get the error when scanning on my main desktop PC, and I have no idea what is different. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the brother scanner driver & software, same error. I tried over USB and over LAN, same error.

I just tested this by starting my Windows 7 Virtual Machine which has the software installed. After that, when I pressed the "Scan" button on the printer control panel, a menu came up asking me where I wanted to scan to, USB or PC, and the name of the virtual machine was listed by "PC". The scan completed normally and was placed into "My Documents" folder in my account on the virtual machine.
