I am a student who is studying for the MCAT. I lost my chemistry notes from previous classes and I needed to find chemistry notes to study off of. I want to use Obsidian Notes for my studies in chemistry and stumbled onto a small problem. Obviously, I have to write chemical formulas and can't seem to figure out, how to write a number or a text a little higher or lower for quantity numbers, electronegativity numbers or the state of aggregation. I hope you can help me. Do I need a certain plugin for that or is there a key combination to press? Thank you for your help.

Although I am soon graduating, one of my goals after college is to redo some of my notes from my STEM courses. My mental health took a toll after COVID; since 2020 the quality of my class notes has worsened. I am thus looking for a new way of taking notes.

There are a few contenders I am considering. There's Notion, One Note, and of course, Obsidian. However, I am having trouble choosing which option to choose from. My notes will be mostly around biology and chemistry, so I will need to include equations, diagrams, and hand-drawn chemical reaction mechanisms.

Has anyone here been using Obsidian to make notes on Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry? Do you see some obstacles that Obsidian might have versus taking notes like in OneNote or another note app?

Not many YouTube videos showcase how users have used Obsidian for advanced classes in organic/inorganic chemistry, so I was wondering whether someone here might give me advice on whether Obsidian could help me with this challenge.

I've made my Chemistry (Molecular Spectroscopy) notes in latex. It's basically a bunch of big formulae that are used in Spectroscopy. I'm looking for suitable template options where all the formulae will look neat and not get crumbled in tiny space giving a feel of letters and symbols spread on a paper. I also want to avoid creating boxes (they're called environments ig) for each formula, since as i mentioned, there are just a lot of equation and very less theory in it.

I took some pretty solid notes for chemistry and got a 27 in the section. Does anyone want my notes or where can I post them so they are available for free. DAT is already so expensive I just want my notes to help people.

A Brief Review of Elementary Quantum Chemistry has been used by college students and curious high-school students worldwide. Koster was the only student from the University of Nevada, and one of only two students in the state, to receive the 2012 Goldwater Scholarship. The SURF fellowship was awarded to twelve students nationwide. It provided funding for Koster's study of novel routes to pharmaceutical precursors, research that she is conducting in the laboratory of Christopher Jeffrey, assistant professor of chemistry. In addition, the fellowship provided funding to present her summer research discoveries at a research symposium hosted by Pfizer in Groton, Connecticut.

"Well, I do have to work all the time and I'm always challenged to get everything done," she said of her busy schedule, which includes piano lessons, classwork, and time spent in the research lab. Then she added, with a thoughtful smile, "On the other hand, if I only did chemistry and didn't have music, I feel things would be out of balance. (Practicing piano, although it is work in and of itself) provides balance."

Her second semester general chemistry professor, Ana de Bettencourt-Dias, was one of Koster's first mentors in the department, introducing her to the career opportunities available in the field of chemistry and providing encouragement to pursue a chemistry major.

Robert Sheridan, with his vast expanse of organic chemistry knowledge and ability to make the subject, in Koster's words, "surprisingly fun" was the professor who "solidified my decision to major in chemistry."

Green chemistry is the design of chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances. Green chemistry applies across the life cycle of a chemical product, including its design, manufacture, use, and ultimate disposal.

This is unlike cleaning up pollution (also called remediation), which involves treating waste streams (end-of-the-pipe treatment) or cleanup of environmental spills and other releases. Remediation may include separating hazardous chemicals from other materials, then treating them so they are no longer hazardous or concentrating them for safe disposal. Most remediation activities do not involve green chemistry. Remediation removes hazardous materials from the environment; on the other hand, green chemistry keeps the hazardous materials from being generated in the first place.

If a technology reduces or eliminates the hazardous chemicals used to clean up environmental contaminants, this technology would also qualify as a green chemistry technology. One example is replacing a hazardous sorbent [chemical] used to capture mercury from the air for safe disposal with an effective, but nonhazardous sorbent. Using the nonhazardous sorbent means that the hazardous sorbent is never manufactured and so the remediation technology meets the definition of green chemistry.

In the scope of its subject, chemistry occupies an intermediate position between physics and biology.[6] It is sometimes called the central science because it provides a foundation for understanding both basic and applied scientific disciplines at a fundamental level.[7] For example, chemistry explains aspects of plant growth (botany), the formation of igneous rocks (geology), how atmospheric ozone is formed and how environmental pollutants are degraded (ecology), the properties of the soil on the moon (cosmochemistry), how medications work (pharmacology), and how to collect DNA evidence at a crime scene (forensics).

Chemistry has existed under various names since ancient times.[8] It has evolved, and now chemistry encompasses various areas of specialisation, or subdisciplines, that continue to increase in number and interrelate to create further interdisciplinary fields of study.
