@DJ42 Would help if you specified your precise model? Anyway have you checked you have the latest firmware on Samsung Support. If so options are to try a Smart Hub and/or Factory reset. See more here -audio-video/how-do-i-perform-a-factory-reset-on-my-samsung-tv/

I have a Samsung55 and same issue. Suddenly none of my apps will play videos..Netflix, Prime, HBO...I have reset Smart Apps. I factory reset the TV. Reset the Network settings. Tried the unplug and left off 10min....nada. Called Samsung and the snooty girl said it was my apps and its not, in the sense its the TV somehow affecting the apps. Its on automatic update...not sure when the last update was but its on version 1243. Other Samsung TV fine. Had to add my accounts and the work on so I know its not my home router or internet wifi nor wired.

try holding down the back button and the play/pause button at the same time for at least 3 seconds. That should repair your remote with your TV. I had the same issue and this worked for me. Good luck.

I have a Samsung UE55NU7023 i was playing back content just fine today and after i ejected my usb stick and insterted after 10 minutes without doing anything that would cause trouble my tv stopped loading anything from the usb port. It kep loading the usb forever when i tried to access it. I tried multiple usb sticks and it did the same thing. But when i had a single folder with a video in one usb drive the tv prompted me as always to play the video without opening the files and it played the video just fine, but when i tried to access the files after that i couldn't. What is going on? The port clearly works, what should i do?

I have the same problem with my Samsung QN82Q80RAFXZA QLED (2019) model. What I have found for a work around is open the acorn app on my iPad, start the episode and airdrop it to my Samsung. Somewhat cumbersome but at least the show plays without errors.

I too have the same question with my US-purchased Samsung 49Q6FN QLED TV and I too am NOT intested in the 5 approaches described by user9v9S3J7Rl8 - these are all 'solutions' I received during calls, chats and emails with Samsung, none of which address the question - accessing and playing PC files THROUGH THE TV INTERFACE, and NOT simply playing PC files using the TV as a monitor.

I have a Samsung U.S. model also, but it won't show my folders - only a long list of the movies I have in my various folders. I am using Linux, and I have come to realize that I need to place movies into the Videos folder for the Samsung TV to even see them. I do not want to be copying all my movies from HDD #2 over to the videos folder. My soulution, is I used links inside the videos folder that pointed to the folder I wanted on my HDD #2. The Samsung TV still only displays a long, never-ending list of movies, and no folders, but I am not forced to maintain two copies of my media. Also, my actual media files are separate from the drive I am running Samba or Linux on. Whenever my system crashes, for whatever reason, my actual media files are still intact - untouched.

the sensor detects when theres no activity in the room and then shuts off. you can set the sensitivity so it turns back on easier when you enter the room if you prefer that, you can also set a timer so it auto shuts off.

in the art mode settings you can modify the mat. you can display the art with no mat like mine are above, or you can adjust the mat. they have a thicker and thinner mat option, and you can change the color of the mat as well.

We have had our 55 inch for a year now. TV it replaced was 10 years old so we found picture fantastic. However art mode is very poor. The memory is very small so we can only have 8 photos on it. When you browse art it seems to fill memory and Samsung force loads of memory heavy apps on you. Having my time again I would not buy this. The art is loverly but pricey, the picture is very good. The apps and functions poor. Twenty clicks to turn down brightness and you must leave Netflix, bbc I player etc to adjust. The light sensor does not seem to work for us so at night art looks false unless we go in and turn down the brightness.

I presume from your description that your problem is with embedded subtitles - "hardcoded" subtitles are part of the video image itself and cannot be changed by any mechanism. Also, note that the problem not appearing in some other players doesn't mean there is no issue with the subtitles - just that different players may handle problems differently. But showing us the logs may give the possibility of seeing what the program is doing, and why.

Additional information, I had been using this without issue for about two years now. Then I disconnected the TV and everything on it(probably for the first time since I first installed) since we were painting, when we went to plug things back in I noticed issues. It detects that something is plugged in but it wont recognize it as comcast and sometimes wont even display any channels. More often then not itll say that it cant be configured and asks me to do it manually but when I cancel I I can watch TV fine. but its an ongoing thing. Once I turn it off and back in I have to do the same thing all over again.

To connect your Samsung TV, projector, Blu-ray player, or home theater system to your Netflix account, make sure you are on the Home screen and select the option below that best describes your device.

On our new TV, Samsung Q70R, we use Samsungs smart-tv hub instead of the Chromecast. It seems like Samsung only sends if it is turned on or off, but not what is playing. Can this somehow be extracted?

For any particular platform, the playback capabilities may be affected by several factors, including the extent to which we can directly test on the platform ourselves, the (Plex) user base on the platform, and more. Some of the platforms will have limited playback capabilities because of these factors. Other platforms receive more customized capabilities.

Smplayer can play this type of videos but you cannot rewind or fast forward. You can only watch it. I run Linux Mint 17 and all multimedia files play normally except .ts files which play in Smplayer only. I have installed the following packages ubuntu-restricted-extras - Smplayer which are not installed by default in Linux Mint 17. I hope this can help. Edited from this point :) I do a work around to solve this issue I use WinFF app to convert the .ts file to any other file that play normally which in my case I prefer the following settings in winff

Note: At this time, we do not support Chromecast devices that some TVs have built-in. While it may work, our player is not developed to support this and we cannot troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Nowadays, watching movies on TV is easy with Netflix, Hulu, and many other on-demand services. But every so often, nostalgia kicks in, and you suddenly remember the DVDs you collected which are now lying around gathering dust. How to play old DVDs on a smart TV (Samsung smart TV, Panasonic, Sony, LG, Insignia, and others)? If you don't know how, here we have detailed methods and steps to help you connect and watch DVDs on TV.

First, unless your TV has a built-in DVD drive, you need to connect a DVD player to the smart TV. Check and decide which cable you should use. Normally, newer Blu-ray player and HD DVD player can connect to HDMI, and most DVD players support Component, S-Video, and Composite cables. However, S-Video is no longer supported on newer TVs. So below we'll show you how to connect DVD player to TV (Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, LG, etc.) using the other 3 types of cables.

Option 2. Component

Ā Component cables contain 5 color-coded connectors: the red, green and blue connectors are for video, and the red and white connectors are for audio. To connect the DVD player to the TV, you need to connect the proper cables to the color matched ports.

Option 3. Composite ("AV" or "RCA")

Ā Composite cables contain 3 color-coded connectors: the yellow connector is for video, and the red and white connectors are for audio. Similar, you need to connect the yellow, white and red cable to the color matched ports on both the DVD player and the TV. 2351a5e196
