Achieving your Cisco Certified Networking Associate, or CCNA, certification requires more than just studying. Instead, it takes a true in-depth understanding of network fundamentals and network security technologies covered in the CCNA material as outlined by Cisco. Our updated CCNA practice test has been redesigned to reflect the Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching 200-125 requirements found in the ICND1 and 2 version 3.0 curriculum.

With the 200-125 CCNA Routing and Switching exam that launched in mid-2016, Cisco made some much-needed changes to steer the certification away from topics covered in previous exams, such as frame relay, and focus more on modern routing and switching technologies.

A few of the major changes included an added emphasis on cloud computing and supplementary network services, such as DNS, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Network Time Protocol (NTP). Additionally, Cisco added more Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) topics to the exam material. Lastly, you'll likely notice an increased focus on modern WAN technologies, including dynamic multipoint VPN and site-to-site VPN connectivity options.

This CCNA practice test covers the appropriate range of topics you can expect when taking the CCNA Routing and Switching exam. The practice questions are in no particular order and provide a realistic example of what you should expect.

Develop a working knowledge of routing, switching, network applications, protocols, and services.

Study with an instructor in the classroom and access expert content online at any time.

Practice what you learn on both real equipment and CISCO Packet Tracer, a network configuration simulation tool.

Get immediate feedback on your work through built-in quizzes and tests.

The materials within this course focus on the Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) identified within the Specialty Areas listed below. Click to view Specialty Area details within the interactive National Cybersecurity Workforce Framework.

HIGH SCHOOL/GED/TASC

Students taking this course should have the following skills: end-user skills with Windows-based personal computers, including the ability to: browse and search for information on the Internet; start up, shut down, and log on to a computer and network; run programs; and move, copy, delete, and rename files in Windows Explorer. Students should also have basic knowledge of computing concepts, including the difference between hardware and software; the functions of software components, such as the operating system, applications, and file systems; and the function of a computer network.

During the Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching Essentials course, you will develop a working knowledge of routing, switching, network applications, protocols, and services. You will study with an instructor in the classroom and access expert content online anytime. You can practice what you learn on both real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer, a network configuration simulation tool. Practical exercises are spread throughout the course.

This semester is stage one in the series of networking courses. It will introduce the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the Internet and computer networks, giving you a general grounding in network knowledge. The principles of IP addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations are also introduced to you, in order to provide a foundation for the curriculum.

By the end of the semester, students can build simple local area networks (LAN) that integrate IP addressing schemes, and foundational network security, and perform basic configurations for routers and switches.

The second course in the CCNA curriculum focuses on switching technologies and router operations that support small-to-medium business networks and includes wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts.

By the end of this semester, Students should gain skills to configure and troubleshoot enterprise networks and learn to identify and protect against cybersecurity threats. They are introduced to network management tools and learn key concepts of software-defined networking, including controller-based architectures and how application programming interfaces (APIs) enable network automation.

Cost: 400 per unit. To complete all four units the fee is 1200. CISCO Certification (exam) costs 200 and covers Semester 1-3. A refund of up to 90 of the exam fee may be claimed back directly from CISCO if a pass of 75% is achieved on the first attempt.

The Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching certification, or CCNA Routing and Switching, has served as the most important starting point in the Cisco certification world for decades. With the most recent changes to this venerable certification in March 2013, the role of CCNA Routing and Switching has changed slightly. What remains unchanged is that CCNA Routing and Switching continues to be an important early step to demonstrate mastery of core networking skills of IP routing and LAN switching.

Along with these topics, the exam requires that you know how to configure each topic, use commands to verify that each works properly, and to troubleshoot problems using a router/switch simulator on the exam.
