Me and my mates couldn't get standard camping this year since they sold out so fast, so we jumped on getting camping plus. Trouble is, we don't really know what it is, apart from being nicer camping, and we can't really find any specific info on it. Anyone help us out?

Our super thick Camp Plus Self-Inflating Mat with horizontal Delta Cores delivers plus-sized comfort and warmth for year-round camping. Horizontal Delta coring is a technology pioneered by Sea to Summit. The process removes over 40% of the foam to reduce weight and bulk but does not compromise comfort and durability.

Our camping plus loos are the variety where you have multiple toilets with a block with more space for a sink area, mirrors, and general pampering. Whilst we pride ourselves on making our normal toilets as pleasant as possible the camping plus loos are a bit of an upgrade and will inevitably be less of a walk than in standard camping.

I recommend somewhere near the middle. We've done near the arena, which was v noisy ALL night long, and last year we did near the car parking, which was great for unpacking / packing, but was a heck of a trek to the main arena. I've yet to book this years camping plus, but will go somewhere middle of the road. Enjoy!

Purple - indigo - blue on the southern side (usually bottom of picture). If you go to the north/top you are on a slope. Near the bottom/right of the purple-indigo you are close to showers/red bus (bacon rolls in morning, hot choc at night). But avoid the very bottom row as that is next to the thoroughfare.

But. It's a long trek to car park so get there before opening, otherwise you have to haul your stuff up a steep hill before you even get to the entrance of the camping area.

oh lisasturge what a shame.

we've just bought tickets, first timers and v excited.

thanks for the blog link shiraz.

We used to go to the Big Chill before it got cancelled and learnt to take a couple of frozen meals that defrost slowly - chilli con carne, curry, that sort of thing. But I love the idea of making a packed lunch for during the day.

we arent doing camping plus - am i making a huge mistake?

Hiya, does anyone have camping plus tickets that they don't want anymore? If it's possible to transfer them on I'm happy to buy tickets off you for those on this thread who have said that they can't go anymore!

Hi. I'm also looking for camping plus tickets as I feel I've made a huge mistake not buying them. Going with my little ones 9,6 and 5 months and another family so need two pitches. Can anyone help? Would like middle of the site if poss. Thanks. B. x

This will be our 1st year at Camp Bestival we were going to camp, but a friend has offered us use of a campervan. So now trying to decide between campervan and camping. Going with a single child (8), am really hoping son will make friends, and just have this feeling camping maybe more... communal.

Grateful for any suggestions

Camping Plus aims to offer you a camping experience Brittany that's different; whether in the Loire-Atlantique, Ille-et-Vilaine, the Morbihan, the Ctes-d'Armor or the Finistre. Depending on your budget and the type of holiday you're looking for, you're sure to find a campsite that suits, whether nestled between the forest and the sea, on the banks of a river or in the Breton countryside.

Camping Plus is our unique initiative designed for all you campers that want to guarantee yourselves a reserved camping space in the general camping fields - enough for large family-sized tents and everything that they entail!

As always for camping, bring clothes at both ends of the expected temperature range. Fall weather is tricky especially in the mountains. You might be swimming in the lake in the afternoon, or huddling in a parka during a frosty morning, or in a downpour.

Small tent combination locks should be a very small part of your overall camping security. Learning about preventing trailhead theft and portable car safes may also help you come up with a solid plan to keep valuable camping gear safe.

Long story (kinda) short, I was camping in national forest next to a small town and the same vehicle drove by several times in a week. They were blaring music, driving fast and trying to do burnouts, and the final straw was them stopping at my campsite when my trunk was open. As I walked out of my tent after hearing the car stop, the driver and a rough looking friend drove off. It was enough where I felt pretty uncomfortable and moved camps.

Instead of gazing at a screen, take the opportunity while camping to gaze at the stars. Wrap up warm, sit by the fire, put your phone away and allow a blissful sense of awe to fill every inch of your being.

Getting back to basics can be a little gruelling at times, but deeply satisfying, too. And lighting a fire to cook on and warm yourself by is a powerful activity that is not only essential on a camping trip, but offers a range of wellbeing benefits that reach back into your primeval self.

Camping trips are wonderful times for our bodies and minds. We usually plan activity-packed days to get the most out of the trip and enjoy the satisfying feeling of being legitimately worn out. We take the chance to unplug and disconnect to give our multi-tasking minds a break and just focus on the birds chirping. When it comes to food, though, it can be difficult to think about how to be healthful in a camping environment. Many of us lean on packaged foods and snacks full of sugar or salt to keep us going outdoors.

Lake Easton allows RV camping in the parking lot. Sites are $12 a night, plus Sno-Park permits. Extra vehicle - $10. For a longer snowshoe or ski, hop on the neighboring Palouse to Cascades Trail.

If you're looking for the best women's sleeping bag to pair with your new pad or are a taller person looking for a longer backpacking sleeping pad, we've reviewed those too. If you're shopping for something that offers an exceptional level of comfort and aren't concerned about the weight, we'd recommend looking at the top camping mattresses for tucking inside your favorite tent.

The tradeoff here is that this pad is quite heavy at 25.6 ounces and doesn't pack down as small as others. It's probably best for shorter backpacking trips or car camping. Overall, though, if you can cope with the additional ounces, the Trail Lite is a great, sturdy pad that offers a lot of comfort for money spent. If you're on an even tighter budget and are okay with a closed-cell foam option instead of an inflatable pad, check out the Nemo Switchback.

If you like camping in the cold and you need cozy warmth beneath you, the Sea to Summit Ether Light XT Extreme is the pad to go with. It offers targeted insulation zones in the areas where women tend to get chilly, and the shape is designed for more width in the hip area instead of the shoulders. This pad is 4 inches thick, quiet, and comes with a pump sack for inflation. Made from high-quality materials and supportive air-sprung cells, we also appreciate some of the cool features, such as a "pillow lock system" to attach your favorite compatible pillow.

Reviewing women's sleeping pads began with understanding the market, and, more specifically, what's actually worth testing. We did considerable research and combed through many products when deciding on the selection of the top options that are discussed here. We considered the most important elements of a women's sleeping pad and focused on these aspects during testing. Most importantly we tested the pads in varied terrain and environments, including climbing and mountaineering expeditions, extended backpacking trips, and car camping extravaganzas. The result is a comprehensive review that will set you off on the right foot in your search for a sleeping pad.

At GearLab, we do care about the weight of your wallet. As a result, we wanted to highlight some pads that offer excellent performance at a reasonable price. The Therm-a-Rest ProLite Plus is not the lightest of the products out there, but it's decently comfortable and packable enough to take on your next backpacking adventure without completely emptying your wallet. The Therm-a-Rest Trail Lite is an even greater value option either for car camping or backpacking if you don't mind carrying a little extra weight in your backpack. Notably, the Sea to Summit Ultralight Insulated is a well-scoring product for a relatively low price compared to other premium options. It is very lightweight and rather comfy at a middling price point. In general, there's a tradeoff of weight and packability to save a few extra bucks, but you can find some excellent deals if you're okay with this.

Camp for Free is not a guide to specific campsites; there are several hundred thousand sites on the over 400 million acres of public lands in the United States. Instead, the book is a how-to guide that includes all the details of enjoying dispersed camping, and how to do it both ethically and safely.

There are hundreds of places to do dispersed camping in the greater Mount Shasta area on Shasta-Trinity National Forest and Klamath National Forest lands, and they are all great for exploring more remote areas where you can hike. (The Mount Shasta Trail Association has lots of info on Mount Shasta trails.)

The rates listed below typically apply for all camping, late April through early November. For camping and rates outside of these dates, please call the property directly. All guests, including campers, will pay a one-time entrance fee upon their arrival. Please see Entrance Fees for specific pricing. Taxes are not included in the listed rates. Reservations require a minimum stay during holiday weekends. View more camping restrictions.
