I have a 70d. I've recently got 8nto macro using the old non-IS 100MM 2 8 lens. Today I found out the delights of using the CCC app to step focus for stacking. It's a bit slow but works fine for the most part except for one annoying thing that I can't figure out. When using the MF function to bracket focus for stacking the app will only focus in one direction. There are three pairs of arrows for stepping the focus forward or backward in differently sized increments. The arrows to the right of the shutter button work fine but the arrows to the left don't do anything.

I was running on the original firmware so thought it might need an upgrade but that made no difference - I'm now running 1.1.3

I haven't tried a different lens so might do that tomorrow but was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Running Android 11. Have reconnected multiple times, turned the camera on and off, removed and reinserted the battery. Rebooted the phone and reinstalled the CCC software.

Can't think of anything else to try....

To be clear in my mind - are you saying that if you focus close and select the right arrow the lens will step towards infinity, but if you focus far and select the left arrow the lens won't step towards the camera?

On the Android version of the app, it shows what WiFi network the phone is connected to. I noticed that when I connected to my camera, it would temporarily show that it was connected to the camera's WiFi session ID, but then, almsot as soon as it'd done that, it would revert back to being connected to the previous WiFi network and the camera would thrown an error.

So.. I disabled autoconnect on my phone for the WiFi network I was connected to, and cycled the WiFi off and back on again on my phone to drop the WiFi connection but have WiFi enabled. Once I did that, I could reliably connect to the Camera Connect app and control my camera from my phone.

I'm getting some similar problems. Camera is an EOS6D, smartphone is new LG Android. The phone wi-fi finds the camera, connects, the camera screen says "Start the Smartphone App" but the app says "Not Connected". Tried uninstall, phone restart, and reinstall twice. Cleard camera settings twice as well. The phone wi-fi seems to connect with the camera, the camera seems to recognizeed the phone, but the app doesn't realize it's connected. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem with connectivity with my iPhone and T7i. It had worked fine previously but I've probably connected 100 times so far and every time it either says the connection failed or just drops off.

It ocurred to me to try connecting to a different phone so I did that with the same result - failed! I initially thought it had to be the camera and in fact a Canon rep said I should send it in for repairs. After reading so many posts that others have similar problems though I decided that it can't be the camera.

Never got it to work and I gave up. My phone is an Adroid. Basically this is how I see it, confirmed by what I see on You Tube How To videos. My camera and phone Wi-Fi are connecting, the moment I enter the encrytion key into my phone wi-fi login, simutaneously the phone shows connected and the camera screen changes to "Start the smartphone app". Problem is the app is supposed to bring up a prompt listing my camera and that never happens.

BTW, had assistance from Member Community on KelbyOne, they suggested stopping my Internet Security on my phone, tried that, still no change. Also, downloaded the Canon EOS Utility for my laptop, that connects and works fine.

Thanks for the information. I checked and disabled the NFC connection but it didn't solve the problem for me. It connects easily enough as usual but as soon as you try to use any of the functions it just disconnects.

Hi! I own canon eos 5d iv, and been using camera connect app before with no problems. However after it was updated recently, I can't finalize the connection with my camera. I arrive to the step where I need to register new camera and choose the connection (just like in the pic), I can see my camera on the phone, but there are any options to finalize this step. When I close the window, it asks to register new camera again. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app, reboot and restart my phone, delete all camera settings- nothing changes

A recent update to iOS added Wi-Fi Assist that has been affecting the connection between our cameras and CameraConnect. That auto switches to whatever network is available, but that can prevent the camera connection from getting established.

the problem is that in Camera connect app I can't move forward from the "Wi-fi connection" window, when it shows that I am connected to my camera (its name is displayed there). I switched off automatic switch to mobile internet in my android. But no changes.

Any ideas how I can make it work?

I agree with shadowsports. Let's reset the wireless settings on the camera to factory defaults and use the camera generated name for the network (camera access point). Delete the previously shown "network name" for the camera from your phone's WIFI selection menu and then retry.

The Camera Connect app is killing me. Anyone else have constant issues getting your camera connected to your iphone? I keep starting from scratch, deleting the app, removing the camera's wifi network and bluetooth connection from my phone, and using the app's "easy connection wizard". No matter what I do, I end up with a "connection failed" notification on the camera or the phone. It worked in the past, I've downloaded the latest version of the app, but it just won't connect now. Any ideas?

For what it's worth, seems like the stumbling block is the wifi portion of the handoff. I can link it via bluetooth and the bluetooth remote shutter works just fine, but as soon as I try to use wifi to either use remote live view or transfer photos, it tells me the connection failed. Ugh.

Well, I fixed it. No idea why but switching the SD card in the camera suddenly cured all the issues. If i use my 128gb SanDisk card, it fails to connect (although it used to work). Switching to another SanDisk card (32gb) and it connects immediately and works normally.

Reformatting cured the issues with the card. Interesting, hadn't seen anyone with camera connect problems report that it was related to the memory card, so hopefully if anyone else stumbles on this thread this may cure your issues as well!

Oh my god you genius. Thank you so much I never even thought of that. I've been struggling with this issue for so long and I guess I must have damaged the SD card in my camera at some point. Swapping SD cards instantly resolved the issue.

I have this issue intermittently with the Canon Connect android app on an LG K92 5G phone. I use multiple M6ii and M200 cameras with the app and all 5 are 'saved' in the app. Sometimes the app recognizes a nearby camera that's turned out, sometimes it doesn't. I am sometimes surprised when trying to connect that the app connects to another camera in my camera bag or even in another room, even though the other camera is turned off! In this case you have to scroll through the list of cameras in the app and choose the right one.

Sometimes shutting down the app and starting it again, it recognizes the camera instantly, sometimes not. Once in a great while it fails to see the camera at all, in which case I have to go through the whole rigamarole of removing it as a bluetooth device from the phone, going into the camera, clearing wireless settings, and setting it all back up again from scratch.

The App is a huge failure. Ok i get it working eventually. Then the next time i have to go through the rig marole of trying to reconnect. I am i on android. I hope one day the people that wrote the app can make a more user friendly and simple app so its easy to get going. Eventually when the app does work its great, does what its designed to do.

I'm using the Canon connect application on a Samsung Tab A8 and A53 phone. I haven't any problems making connections on either, i used it Wednesday for the 1st time since the end of June it connected the first try on the A53 the Tab A8 was on the second try. On the Tab A8 I found that if it didn't connect first try to open bluetooth and unpair the camera, works flawlessly after that. One thing I always do in the camera is to clear wireless settings after closing the application which means I begin the connection process each time I use it. ff782bc1db
