The Big Bang is the seventh studio album by American rapper Busta Rhymes.[2]It was released on June 13, 2006, by Aftermath Entertainment, Flipmode Records and Interscope Records. Production for the album took place during 2005 to 2006 at several recording studios and was handled by Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, Mark Batson, DJ Scratch, J Dilla, Timbaland, Mr. Porter, will.i.am, Sha Money XL, JellyRoll, Black Jeruz, Nisan Stewart and DJ Green Lantern. The official cover artwork was revealed on May 7, 2006. The tracklisting was released on the 15th.

The Big Bang is Busta Rhymes's first album without his signature dreadlocks he had for most of his career as he transitioned into a new look with a short Caesar haircut and a muscular physique. It is his only release under Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment record label. Full production of the album came from Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, will.i.am, Mr. Porter, Erick Sermon, Green Lantern, Timbaland, J Dilla and DJ Scratch. Featured guests include Nas, Stevie Wonder, Rick James, Kelis, Raekwon, Q-Tip, Missy Elliott, Marsha Ambrosius & LaToiya Williams. Five singles have been released for the album: "Touch It", "Touch It Remix", "I Love My Bitch", "New York Shit" and "In the Ghetto". Music videos were released for all of them. The finalized version of the "Touch It Remix", for which a video was shot, was not included on the final album.

Busta Rhymes was really pleased with the album: "I would not have changed The Big Bang album for the world. It's still one of my if not the favorite album of mine from a lyrical standpoint, a conceptual standpoint and a musical standpoint." He praised the Dr. Dre produced song Legends of the Fall Off for the "gravediggin beat with the shovel in the dirt" calling it "unbelievable". He also praised You Can't Hold a Torch, Don't Get Carried Away and Gold Mine. He also said "The only thing I probably would have changed is I Love My Chick would not have been on that album. I probably would have put "I Love My Chick" on another albumthat it would have been more appropriate for."[14]

The album became Busta's first and only album to debut at number one on the charts with over 209,000 copies sold during the first-week of release. On August 30, 2006, the album was certified gold for shipments of over 500,000 units. The album has sold 823,000 copies as of November 22, 2011[18] The album became Busta Rhymes' highest-charting album in the UK, debuting on the UK albums chart at number nineteen. His previous highest album peak was #3 for the album When Disaster Strikes, almost ten years before the release of The Big Bang.

Genesis is the fifth studio album by American rapper Busta Rhymes. The album was released on November 27, 2001, by Flipmode Records and J Records.[14] The fourth single from the album, "Pass the Courvoisier Part II", peaked at number eleven on the Billboard Hot 100. It was included at the end of the album on some later pressings (on which "Ass On Your Shoulders" was removed due to playing time restrictions). The album debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 185,000 copies.[15] It later sold one million domestic copies and certified Platinum by RIAA.

In 2018 Busta Rhymes was accused of plagiarism by Bernardo Lanzetti and his group, Acqua Fragile, because in ''Genesis'', the song that gives the title to his 2001 album, he used a sample of ''Cosmic mind affair'', taken from ''Mass Media Stars'', the group's second album, without declaring it and indeed signing it in his own name.[17] Lanzetti and the group decide to continue the cause;[18] the usage of the sample is approximately 20.09 seconds and is repeated 4 times within Genesis for a usage percentage of approximately 35% of the total duration of the song.[19] Furthermore, the name of the original producer of Cosmic mind affair, Claudio Fabi, also disappears from the rapper's album, because J Dilla is listed in this role in the credits.[20] Since after years of negotiations the situation was not resolved with recognition, Lanzetti and the band decided to take legal action[21]

On Nov. 24, Busta Buss released Blockbusta, executive produced by Pharrell, Timbaland, and Swizz Beatz. In a press release, he spoke highly of the superproducers. He called Pharrell "the Pharoah," Timbaland "the King," and Beatz "the Student."

In 2020, Busta shared the follow-up to his 1998 album Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front with Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God. It was notable for collaborations with Mariah Carey ("Where I Belong"), Kendrick Lamar ("Look Over Your Shoulder"), and an unreleased track with Ol' Dirty Bastard ("Slow Flow").

After teasing the project for a while now, Busta Rhymes is officially ready to drop his new full-length album, BLOCKBUSTA. The album will be executive produced by super producers Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and Pharrell.

Busta Rhymes revealed that Blockbusta will feature an incredible lineup of executive producers. The dream team includes none other than Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and Busta himself, making it a gathering of musical maestros like no other.

The announcement of the album was made through a video shared by Busta, showcasing his tight-knit executive producer team. Each member expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate on this significant project.

I cant seem to find anything saying Busta performed bass on More Songs about Buildings and Food, again not saying he didnt. Busta had already worked with producer Brian Eno several times by this point, so the connections there, but from my understanding, Talking Heads had already written a majority of the songs off More Songs back when the band was still a 3 piece, and that bassist Tina Weymouth wrote and performed bass for that album.

Of course, the legendary rapper is excited about the legion of soundmen he's put together. In fact, he's dubbing the album a royal affair ... nicknaming Pharrell as "The Pharoh," Timbaland as "The King," and Swizz Beatz humbly refers to himself as "The Student."

Since his last album, Rhymes dropped the 2022 EP, The Fuse Is Lit, a compact, five-song project featuring contributions from Swizz Beatz, Big Daddy Kane, Conway the Machine and more. The year prior, he had also put out a special deluxe version of his 1996 debut LP, The Coming, in honor of its 25th anniversary.

However, despite the strong collaborations, it does seem to be the defining characteristic of the album that there are only four tracks with just Busta on his own. This mix of sounds and tones seems almost clumsy, with the chosen guests not always complimenting Smith or each other, repeatedly disrupting the flow of the album, and preventing its potential overall coherence.

An all-time great for sure, but is it now time for Busta to bask in his legacy and leave the big 19-song-albums to newer artists? Sadly, Blockbusta shows that he can no longer maintain quality and engagement throughout an entire album, as most of the tracks are weak and lacking in unique value, with highlights mainly being provided by guest artists.

The new album is called Blockbusta and is out everywhere. It boasts features from DaBaby, Kodak Black, T-Pain, Chris Brown, Quavo, Burna Boy, Big Tigger, Swizz Beatz and a lot more big names. Some said when the track list dropped that there were too many features because only 4 of the 19 tracks on here are solo.

Busta Rhymes is rolling out the all-star lineup he's assembled for his forthcoming album.

On Thursday, November 16, the veteran MC posted the tracklist for his Blockbusta LP that's set to drop next week. His 11th studio album will have 19 tracks with contributions from Quavo, Blxst, Yung Bleu, DaBaby, T-Pain, Jnr Choi, Chris Brown, Shenseea, Giggs, Kodak Black, MoRRay and more. The lengthy tracklist appeared on the back of a vintage Blockbuster DVD case along with the front cover, which features his album's title in the iconic video rental store's classic font.

The group of beat-makers join previously announced album executive producers Swizz Beatz, Pharrell Williams and Timbaland, along with Busta.

On Monday, Busta Rhymes revealed the official tracklist for his upcoming tenth studio album, Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God. The project features legends like Rakim, Q-Tip, M.O.P., Pete Rock, Bell Biv Devoe and more. The new album arrives on all digital streaming platforms on Friday.

In the past few weeks, Busta has previewed "Slow Flow" with an unreleased Ol' Dirty Bastard verse and dropped "YUUUU," featuring Anderson .Paak. The two recreated Mad Magazine's Spy vs. Spy series for the video. Busta also recently dropped "The Don and the Boss," featuring dancehall legend Vybz Kartel. He followed up the tracklist announcement with an official album trailer as well.

At the height of the first year of the coronavirus pandemic, the veteran proved what sustains him as one of the best when he continued one of his great albums, Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front with the release of Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, one of the most talked about albums of 2020 and very well regarded by critics.

Even in pandemic times, Busta abuses his creative process and makes the best use of his time preparing another hit. Still without an exact date to be released in 2022, he posted in one of his social media profiles the excerpt of one of the tracks of his new album produced by KHRISIS. 2351a5e196
