The score to Bolt was composed by John Powell who also composed the music for DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon and How to Train Your Dragon 2 and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. According to John Lasseter, John Powell was handpicked out of several potential composers because he had good experiences with providing music for animated movies.
