Anyway, I was able to use my long handle ratchet to break loose the passenger side lower transmission nut with a lot of effort. However, the driver's side lower bolt is proving to be a big problem. There are too many hoses and things on the drivers side to pull on a wrench from above the engine bay. I have been soaking the nuts with PB Blaster for a few days as well.

And lastly, if/when I am able to remove the lower bolts, I am aware that separating the transmission from the engine will be quite beastly. I have been advised to use a flat blade screwdriver to begin prying them apart, keeping an even gap all around, until I can then get a pry bar in the gap to separate them further.

Do not use a screwdriver to separate the trans from the motor. spray pb blaster on the pins, one on each side about half way down the trans case. You should be able to wiggle the motor and break it loose.
