Is there a game like 'Blur' that I can play? I'm tired of racing games trying their best to be purely realistic or too cartoonish. I liked the mid-realism of 'Blur' that combined fun elements with actual compelling gameplay. Whilst I'm looking forward to games like Forza Horizon 4 & Project Car 2, I know that they won't be the kind of game that I'll care about investing my time into long-term.

It features over 50 licensed cars including custom models, 35 tracks in 14 real-world inspired locations, visual damage modelling and arcade style car physics. The arcade and kart racing style of blur includes eight power-ups as well as modifications that players can equip before races.

The singleplayer career mode in blur sees the player climbing a difficulty progressing ladder by completing races and challenges in order to challenge nine rival racers in a one-on-one race. Each rival has a unique persona and race style. Leaderboards and challenges allow players to compete indirectly with friends.

To Be Determined is an online journal of bike racing, adventure, photography and all things cycling. This storytelling effort is led by a New York City based cycling team that loves all things cycling - from bikepacking to cyclocross to crit racing and gravel grinders.

Ive been absolutely thrilled on the blur. Kinda dumb, but Ive always wanted a SC but could never afford one. Times have changed, and it was on a pretty steep sale, so I went for it! Ive never heard anyone complain about a blur or epic, if that matters? Find the one that fits you, priced how you want, and pull the trigger knowing youre gonna be happy!

The month is May 2010. Just four weeks before E3, one of the biggest games ever is about to launch: Red Dead Redemption. However, the month will be fondly remembered by arcade racing game fans for another reason.

Old school technique with motion blur was to render scene multiple times with substeps to accumulate buffer. This is insanely costly but gives nice algorithm that can be used with modern techniques. For correct motion blur for wheels you would need to render spinning wheel multiple times during when shutter is open. So let say your 4ms shutter speed and you render same wheel 4 times in time T, T - 1ms, T - 2 ms and T - 3ms. Also can use alpha testing instead of blending. I think they are doing just like that in The Human Race.

The VBI length can be estimated by timing the length of time of RasterStatus.InVBlank (in microseconds). This is always microsecond exact, and this becomes your starting pistol for beam racing the emulator raster.

So what went wrong? Releasing in May 2010 wasn't a great move, for one thing. Blur registered appalling week-one sales (just 31,000 in the US), against stiff competition not just from same-genre titles but also games that'd go on to be regarded as some of the greatest of all time. Also released in May 2010: Just the small matters of Red Dead Redemption, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Alan Wake and Skate 3. And then there was ModNation Racers and Split/Second: Velocity to go toe-to-toe with, from a strictly racing perspective. Tough crowd.

We are great fans of super sharp images and usually do all we can to get things razor sharp. This could be by spending extra on lenses (we both use sony camera now with rather pricy Zeiss glass). Or it could be we sacrifice our health to carry a heavy tripod to our chosen scene to avoid any camera shake. Sometimes however, the subject calls for a more impressionist style and this is where some camera motion blur created by panning comes in.

This technique works so well on any moving subject. Mechanical objects are a-given but panning for camera motion blur can create incredible images of people and animals with blurred backgrounds and interesting blurs on legs and swinging arms.

I'm a simple man when it comes to racing games. I just want to hop into a car and race against other people online. I don't want to study the torque and handling of each car, nor do I want to unlock items so I can faff about and try and strike the perfect balance between tire thickness and spoiler height, whatever that means. Just give me a few cars to choose from, I'll pick the one I think looks the coolest, and away I go.

I assumed I'd have a few races and then return to the growing pile of games I still need to play before the end of 2023. That didn't happen. Two races quickly turned into two hours, my entire evening consumed by F-Zero. Turns out the battle royale racer is everything I want from a racing game in many of the same ways that Blur was. Four cars to quickly choose between before you're thrown into a race. 98 other players in that race so yeah, about as chaotic as you could ever hope a racing game to be. No weapons but with so many other cars in close proximity, and the ability to deal damage by spinning them Crash Bandicoot-style, weapons would be overkill.

The best part of all may well be how easy the game is to play. There's nothing worse than picking up a new racing game and it feels more difficult than driving the real version of that car round a track at 150mph. I don't want to think about which tyres I should use or if my gearbox can handle three more laps. F-Zero quickly teaches you the controls, three races to get you ready for the sheer number of players on the same track, and away you go.

Made by the masters behind Project Gotham Racing and Metropolis Street Racer, Blur is a racing project by Bizarre Creations that aims to take arcade-style action and realistic driving physics to a whole new level. The game drops players into heart-pumping, electrified racing action with 20 cars on a track all targeting the finish line and battling each other as they trade paint and collect intense power-ups, including the ability to blast other cars out of the way with huge bursts of energy, boost their speed, and more.

I was sitting in a little outdoor caf in Milan drinking coffee and eating a sandwich and noticed that the area I was sitting in front of had a ton of traffic passing through. It was fashion week 2012 in Milan Italy and I wanted to exaggerate how speedy the cars were going by to give them impression of life moving really quickly. All I did was slow the shutter speed to about 1/25 of a second, and when a car went by I panned my camera from left to right as the car moved from left to right. I kept the same pace of movement as the car did which means that the car was in focus but everything else was blurry! This car looks like it is racing by but it was only really going about 5mph! This is a super simple thing to do but it makes a WOW dramatic statement with a simple image. e24fc04721
