I've been searching the internet on my issue but can't seem to find anything conclusive. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5584 that I bought from Costco less than a year ago. The biggest problem I have is that sometimes when I boot there is no bluetooth icon and I cannot connect to any bluetooth devices (except wifi works fine). Under services.msc there are the 3 listings for bluetooth, but no icon in my task bar. HOWEVER, my current fix is to remove all devices from my usb ports (I repeat, ALL) and sometimes even pull the power cord and boot from battery. That seems to get bluetooth working every time (knock on wood, knock on my head, don't curse it). Is my laptop headed for hardware doom? What is my recourse?

Oh, my biggest secondary problem is related - sometimes I get the black screen of death when I boot. I use the same process to get the DELL display and then my system logon password display. i.e., I remove all the connected devices and sometimes even the power cord and boot from battery.

My 3rd problem is that I keep getting errors when I attempt to load the SupportAssist app. I loaded it when I first bought this laptop but recently it wouldn't work and I received a display that I needed to load it (again). Now when I run SupportAssist Launcher it fails after notifying me that a new version will be loaded.

Does your laptop have a Qualcomm QCA9377 wifi/bt adapter? If so, I'd replace it with something else...that adapter has lots of issues on Dell systems, including my nearly new 5593....Dell replaced my QCA9377 and it did nothing to fix the problem. I replaced it myself with an Intel 9560NGW (about 10 dollars on eBay) and I have not had a single issue since.

I have an Inspiron 13 7000 2in1. My bt started disappearing a few months ago. I installed firmware level v1.13 and after the reboot, bt works. After I power off and turn back on the next day bt is gone. If I really need bt I just re-install the firmware and it comes back. Pretty bad that Dell can't fix this, permanently.

You need to disconnect and forget the Neo from the Windows 10 laptop. To connect Bluetooth devices to Zwift it should NOT be connected to any other device or app (including your laptop) before opening Zwift.

I have been having these issues as well but yesterday the BLE connection from the PC to the smart trainer worked actually worked. I am not sure if there was another update from microsoft or zwift but everything seem to connect. The only thing that seems off is that there is no option to calibrate the trainer.

I did this, too, before finding this post, but wanted to know what others were doing. My iPhone has never had a problem locating bluetooth devices, unlike zwift + windows.

I was disabling every blutooth device I could find and still having connection issues (keeps finding and losing devices in zwift), so I switched my bluetooth back ON on my phone. Then on zwift in windows, from the options on the top right of the pairing screen, I selected to use zwift companion. Everything popped up perfectly and stayed on. I think between windows and zwift there are a lot of random issues. Not to mention the time a windows auto update took out my bluetooth halfway through a ride until I restarted windowzzzz.

I want to pair my laptop with either my Android phone or an external Bluetooth speaker. I am able to pair my Android phone with the speaker but cannot pair the laptop with either the phone or speaker.

I encountered a similar issue a while back to find that the bluetooth speaker needed unpaired from the smartphone first, before the pairing with the PC. It should show up on the laptop bluetooth search once unpaired from the smartphone..

If all else fails, you can also try the Windows Troubleshooter on Windows 10 and see if it can resolve your Bluetooth issues. It checks your Bluetooth radio and device settings step-by-step, and identifies any issues.

Delete all BT devices from device manager.

Reboot to BIOS and disable BT.

Reboot to Windows and make sure BT is gone.

Back to BIOS and enable BT.

Back to Windows and let it reinstall BT.

First, do not rely on windows to update your bluetooth driver. Find out what bluetooth card or chip your computer is using and go to that manufacturers website to get their latest updated driver. Once installed it should work.

If you connected to newer first you have to reboot the buds before connecting to older. As the buds default to connecting to last connected first means you have to turn Bluetooth off of last connected.

We recently purchased this laptop. The internal speakers were working fine until I used a bluetooth speaker. Now the laptop shows the red X on the speaker icon. The only thing that shows up under playback devices is the bluetooth speaker.

I do see that under Other Devices, that the Intel High Definition Audio and Intel High Definition DSP drivers aren't found and suspect this might be the issue. I tried the Update Driver options using Browse my Computer for Driver Software and it didn't find anything.

I have this strangest issue with my Lenovo Flex 3 1470. My built in bluetooth receiver only turns on when i restart windows. If I shut off windows completly and then turn it back on again, bluetooth doesnt work. The icon is dissapeared from the action center and from the device manager. In this state (with laptop on and bluetooth not working), if I restart windows (through start>on/off>restart) the bluetooth device suddenly becomes available upon rebooting. And it works completly stable with all connected devices. I don't want to restart my laptop every time I want to use a bluetooth device.

I have tried several things, a clean windows 10 installation, some energy on and off switches in device manager and many different kind of drivers. I even tried replacing the card with a ac7265, but when i did this WiFi worked and bluetooth entirely didnt work nor did it show up in device manager. I waisted money in a effort to fix this strange bluetooth problem, i guess.

The bluetooth component is not functioning when i first start the laptop. That is the basic consistent output. Every morning when i start up laptop, bluetooth doesn't work. If the laptop already is on, I can do two procedures:

2) First boot, laptop on and bluetooth not working > startbutton taskbar > on/off > shutdown > manually press power button to start laptop; -> results in laptop on and bluetooth component not available.

As for the solutions, I have already contacted Lenovo. It seems that i am the only one with this problem. Nothing they can do for me, since I am on the latest bios firmware. Also tried Lenovo driver and generic driver. I have also changed the powerplan and power management settings, these options did not work.

Holy cow, this thing worked!! By disabling the fast startup option (provided in the link), the bluetooth component works all the time. Really appreciate the help, had this problem for over a half year. How is it possible that the fast startup affects the bluetooth component, can you explain this?

Also, since I have already bought the ac7265 card, do you think the bluetooth component now will work with the fast startup option disabled? I must say that the bluetooth component never worked with this card, restart or shut down didn't matter. Only the WiFi worked. Is it possible that this malfunctioning is due to bios problems. Or if the bios would not recognize the hardware component, WiFi also would not work, meaning that since WiFi works it could be a software related problem?

I am glad to know that our recommendations helped you resolve this issue. As you can see in the link provided before, and other websites that talk about this, Fast startup uses different Power saving states to achieve faster boot times. This may cause power on/off issues in different components as it did in your case. 152ee80cbc
