I have bitdefender safepay for logging into my bank accounts and checking my Hotmail account. I have had issues with being hacked on my Samsung phone and this computer and I am very suspicious that someone has accessed my bitdefender password manager.

For this reason my plan is to factory reset both and I want to know if it could be a good idea to access all my services that require me to sign in via Bitdefener Safepay browser as I feel my passords are less likely to be compromised when I enter them and it has some good features like not allowing screen shots.

In regard to the protected browser, by default, Bitdefender detects when you navigate to a banking site in any browser on your computer and prompts you to launch it in Bitdefender Safepay. The sealed environment is designed to keep online banking, e-shopping, and any other type of online transaction private and secure and you can use it to access any websites. However, be advised that some banking websites may block your access if you are using a VPN connection, as part of security measures they might have in place. Some other regular websites have implemented a system to detect VPNs and do not load or display errors if the Internet connection is filtered through a VPN.

Bitdefender did an update a wreak ago and ever since safepay no longer uses the wallet but now uses the Password Manger. In Safepay it does not fill in like the wallet did. Well initially you have to open a window to open and get the password manger to ask for its password. This is true for every new window that opens whether it is in safepay or just a browser. Password manager is worse than a paper log for passwords.

So that said SafePay new gui or should I say app is a bust. When website open additional screens they expand beyond safepay window. So the user no longer has the controls of the website accessible to close or log out. One has to kill safepay to close outside the safepay environment.

I reported this same very issue to the forum yesterday. As a new member of this forum, I hope that there is someone brighter than me who can either fix this issue, or at least suggest a work around. Cheers from PlusGl0ssy.

First, Safepay does not launch in full screen as it did before and this behavior will be corrected soon. Secondly, the Safepay window may not display certain pages correctly and this is something that needs to be resolved asap. Also, the VPN may be displayed as disconnected in Safepay, although it has been set to connect automatically when launching the protected browser. It will connect, but this is not reflected in the interface.

When I setup my banking access on my windows 11 laptop and also on my windows 10 PC, Safepay used to launch automatically. It does not do that anymore. I have to launch Safepay first and then use the links for my banking from safepay. I have deleted my banking access from safepay and created new icons for the banking and I selected always launch safepay, but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

1) Make sure that Safepay is enabled. To do this, open Bitdefender and click on the gear icon in the top-right corner. Then, click on Settings and make sure that the switch next to "Enable Safepay" is turned on.

2) Check if Safepay is set to open automatically for banking websites. To do this, click on Privacy and then on Safepay. In the Settings tab, make sure that the switch next to "Automatically open Bitdefender Safepay" is turned on and that the check box next to "Open banking websites automatically in Safepay" is checked.

3) Add your bank's URL to Safepay's whitelist. This will tell Safepay to always open your bank's website in Safepay, even if it does not detect it as a banking website. To do this, click on the star icon in the address bar of Safepay and then click on "Add to bookmarks". In the Bookmark name field, enter the name of your bank and then check the box next to "Open automatically in Safepay".

If issue persists, kindly contact the bitdefender support by visiting and scroll down to the bottom of the webpage where you can get in touch with the support representative either by email, chat or over a call

Good question, as the Print button is unresponsive for me too. And since Saefpay is its own loaded "OS", Print Screen or an image capture software is unreachable. I am like you, I want some sort of back up, I at least want an image capture (let alone a print out) of a receipt etc. from an online transaction.

I thought maybe it was because I was connected wirelessly to my printer, but even after printing a Word document in normal Windows mode (to confirm it's working) via USB cord, and then running Safepay...no print. Even if there is a print option on the webpage, it is unresponsive What am I missing?

Bitdefender's first suggestion was to unistall any other type of security software that I have running alongside Bitdefender Internet Security, in case of interference. I had McAfee SiteAdvisor, Zemana Antilogger, SUPERAntiSpyware and they also suggested Systweak's Advanced System Optimizer. This has something called 'System Protector', but unbeknown to Bitdefender, I don't have this running.

I was conducting some internet banking business today and noticed that not only does the Bitdefender print button not work, but neither does the bank site's own print button. Safepay seems to obscure all printing functions.

Still the same situation here, and I only have the security suite on this notebook partition. Yet, after reading your post, I did check around just to make sure I didn't have other security solutions running in the background, didn't. This is probably on a Bitdefender "too do list" to check into, so we'll see what happens.

Just to keep you in the frame, Bitdefender subsequently sent me a log file which I had to activate and return the results to them. This has now apparently been sent to their testing team and the results of their findings are awaited.

Just adding weight to the forum I also cannot print from within Safepay, the only way I can print is to disable safepay and log in to netbank normally but this going against what the program is designed for! " />

Only upgraded to 2013 version on September 2. I too have had problems trying to print from the Safepay browser - I've only tried two of my banks so far and have contacted BD Support for their comments. Safepay seems a good idea on paper but a little more difficult to implement. Not being able to 'printscreen' doesn't help either. Also the virtual keyboard keeps disappearing while trying to input security details.

Have had various similar problems. Looked at Account statement. Couldn't print or download it to my machine. Also found that on-screen keyboard was hopeless for entering passwords - never seemed to work. Some banking sites also don't seem to work (Tesco for example. I think it may be something to do with cookies.)

I have just installed this software on a clean machine - so no conflicting software etc. I cannot print, access some HTTPS pages, minimises Safepay to view other applications or worst of all get any useful support from Bitdefender. Truly a pretty bad state of affairs if you thought you were going to be able to rely on this software.

Thought I'd give Safepay a try today and paid a bill. Tried to print a copy of the confirmation and I, too, was unable to print either from the website's print button or from the safepay print button. Ended up copying the page, exiting out of Safepay and then pasting into a Wordpad file. Not the best option, but at least I had a record of the payment. Obviously, can't do that with everything. Had to log back in to the site in the regular browser to download my statement. Have Bitdefender Total Security 2013. Safepay is a great concept, but needs work and would be great if someone from BD would get back with this thread as to whether this issue will be fixed.

I have BIS 2013, and am having the same issue as most users here: if I use Safepay for internet banking, I'm unable to print any record of the transaction, either to my USB-connected printer or to a PDF that I could print later.

Sadly, Bitdefender's tech support could offer nothing consrtructive, had me run a utility to generate a log file and submit it to them, and I've heard nothing more, after more than a month. I've written to them three times since, asking if there's any update, but they haven't even bothered to reply. That's very unsatisfactory.

Thank you for that work around Cristian I don't mind it on 2 fronts: 1st, that your not denying there is a problem, and that you are seeking to resolve it. 2nd, that you did provide this temporary work around fix. So again, thank you

Just wanted to let you know that the last contact I had from Bitdefender Customer Care was on 20th October, when they said they would let me know when a fix for this non-printing situation is released.

Safepay has been a feature of Bitdefender since 2013. It is not an add-on or bloatware that installs silently but is a cherished part of Bitdefender's security that many have appreciated over the years, including myself. It cannot be uninstalled.

Safepay really does bring some great security features to your online banking as well as favorite shopping sites, especially when used with its built-in VPN. Just a thought as far as understanding what it brings to the table :)

5. Privacy -> Video & Audio Protection -> Settings and disable "Notify when allowed applications connect to the webcam", "Notify when an application tries to access the microphone" and "Notify when browsers access the microphone"

Actually, as soon as I disable the three switches showed in your screenshot, they appear disabled indeed (but Safepay does not stop to appear). However, the next time I start my PC I find the first two switches enabled again. This happens in another computer as well.

Yes, there are a few occurences where restarting the computer will make the Safepay settings reset to previous values. This behavior has been observed only for Safepay settings and there is indeed an open task to fix this. 152ee80cbc
