I tried to install a 'critical windows update' that bitdefender found after a vulnerability scan, but nothing happened. I waited 1 hour. I have now clicked 'stop'. It seemed to be an update related to microsoft defender antivirus.

I agree with @Lovejoy Peacemaker . I have been assuming that it started automatically when windows started. Since it does not, I fail to see the need to include this language at all since you can put the VPN icon on the task bar yourself...and simply leave it there for future use.

The language you are using is misleading, since there are other providers (Nord VPN being one of them) that do offer automatic connection start up when windows starts (ie post login). Hopefully you will update the program to do so, to avoid further confusion around this issue. Thank you,

I cannot agree more with what everyone just said above. If by the end of my suscription the VPN does not actually start AND connect on its own, I will not renew my suscriptions and I will make sure my friends and family using bitdefender do the same.

Theres comments online ive found of other microsoft products like forza 5 and microsoft flight simulator trying to do a 104 gb update. There is no way this is windows update that's just ridiculous can someone explain this to me.

I ran the scan twice and it didn't find that as a vulnerability the second time but this is not the first time this has happened over the years and when it happened before packets were still being downloaded as it attempted to do a windows update which would never take anyways and just wasted my time.

I think there is an issue here thats been there for awhile in how the bitdefender app understands microsoft updates hope this helps point someone in the right direction because the app would have downloaded 104 gb to probably do nothing as thats what it did on a previous machine another time. 10 minutes later and a second scan and it doesnt need that update? It makes no sense that these even show up to me.

Not everything can be resolved on forums. Community forum is only meant to resolve issue on smaller basis which do not require extensive research. Hence, whether you like it or not, in some cases there is a need to contact bitdefender support directly in order to get your issue resolved on urgent basis.

If the generated logs are larger in size, you can upload the logs to google drive or we.tl (7days link validity for free users) or ask the support team to provide you with the online link & password of bitdefender cloud where you can upload the logs and share the upload link with the support team.

6) Open registry editor through run command (windows icon + R) and then type regedit. Once registry editor opens, click on edit -> find, make sure to tick mark match whole strings only. Type bitdefender in search box and click find next. If any file or folder under name of bitdefender is found, delete it. Continue searching the registry and deleting until the search will report no registry keys found.

Hi folks, I know in the past there has been a controversy over using Malwarebytes with bitdefender, some say it's fine, others say not recommended. I have used the two together for about two years, since I ditched Kaspersky. A few weeks ago, on a pretty fast 2 year old computer with a SSD drive, I ran into my first problem. I was attempting to install the latest Windows 11 software and did so. For some reason, I never figured out, the computer crashed. I could not get the computer recovery to work,so I ended up having to reinstall Windows. I did so, and two days later my computer crashed again, so had to reinstall Windows again after completely wiping all data off of my drive (still reinstalling data with carbonite, over 550 G).

After reinstalling windows I did run diagnostics and everything seems good. I don't want to give up on either Bitdefender or Malwarebytes, but I will give up on one of them if I am better off than with both of them.

360TS plugin is the first line of defense online, since it scans all websites for malware. if any malware passes through, I just have 360TS, scanning any file I download, warning me and removing automatically the virus. for searching all the computer for virus 360TS does it with 360 cloud, KVMII AI engine and for offline mode bitdefender and avira engines.

Based on your description, I have the exact same problem. I have Verizon Fios 1gb internet (superfast). I have a desktop and two laptops. The Desktop is under 2 years old and is a dual-boot Windows 11 and Fedora Linux machine with an i7 processor. The two laptops are both Thinkpad T520s. One is a Windows 10 only unit. The other is a dual-boot Windows 10 and Fedora Linux machine. I recently upgraded it from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

All three computers have no difficulty connecting to zoom and hosting zoom meetings through a browser or through the app as long as they are on WiFi. The two machines that run Linux can connect to Zoom without any difficulties whether via WiFi or a hard ethernet connect as long as they are running Linux. None of the machines can connect to Zoom or any zoom meeting if they are running Windows and connected to the internet via an ethernet cable into the ethernet port. There are no error messages just endless spinning.

One other note: the windows PCs will connect to Zoom without difficulty if the ethernet cable is connected via an ethernet to USB adapter rather than plugged directly into the ethernet port. I tested a laptop on a neighbor's network with identical results. I note that they have the same Verios Fios router as I do.

Because the wireless connection is faster than wired through an ethernet/USB adapter, I am holding the Zoom meetings via wireless. But I of course want zoom, Verizon, and/or Windows to figure this out and solve the problem. 2351a5e196
