This article -apps/bing/how-to-get-started-with-bing-chat-on-microsoft-edge says that you must be signed into your Microsoft account. Well, I normally use Google's Chrome browser but i'm aware that Google have a concept of a "Google account", and if I go to google.com or gmail.com and log in then i'm signed into my google account and signed into any google service whether gmail or google docs or whatever. I don't know to what extent that does or doesn't parallel with Microsoft's concept of a microsoft account. I do have an address @outlook.com which I guess counts as a microsoft account.

I tried going to bing.com (bing being Microsoft's search engine that has been around since 2009 which I know is nothing to do with Bing chat). And I clicked signed in and managed to sign in using my outlook.com address.

I do have Firefox sync enabled with preference sync, so is it possible Firefox sync is getting out of sync? IE every time I change it on a machine, it misses a browser, and then the browser that doesn't get changed goes out and changes all the rest back in the next sync? That's the only thing I can think of, other than Mozilla selling their souls and values and forcing Firefox users to use a search engine they hate.

Mozilla doesn't have a deal with Bing, and even if we did we wouldn't be forcing you to use any search engine, we are all about choice. It's possible that either Firefox sync is causing this (do you have a computer with bing set as the default perhaps?) or that you have an extension causing this.

So while editing my search engines on Chrome, I accidentally deleted Bing, and now i want to make it my default browser. i have tried to use the 'Make bing your homepage' application by microsoft, however it is not allowing me to install it as it says "It is already installed", I understand why it says that because i have installed it in the past but i deleted the configurations. So when i try to add a new search engine this comes up:

To help your users take advantage of the benefits of Microsoft Search in Bing, we're making an optional extension available for the Google Chrome web browser. If you decide to deploy this extension, it sets Bing as the default search engine for Google Chrome and provides easier access to Microsoft Search capabilities.

Microsoft executive Yusuf Mehdi provided a demonstration of the retooled Bing at a briefing with reporters. The new version is being teased for the public in a "limited preview," with a true public launch coming soon, executives said. At least initially, people will only be able to access the new AI-powered Bing services using Microsoft's own browser, Edge.

Somehow I ended up with a Bing browser on my iMac. I can't find it in order to delete it. I always launch Safari but before long I look at the screen and it says Bing.com at the top. I usually don't notice it at first but I do a search and I end up at a Microsoft site, then I look up and it says bing.com. I recently downloaded a new Office 365 for Mac and I figured that Bing came with that. How do I get rid of the Bing browser?

No, my homepage hasn't changed. I have an MSN.com homepage and start any search with Safari, and yes, Safari is my default web browser. Any search I do starts with Safari and before long I notice the page will say Microsoft and it says Bing.com in the search bar.

At the end of every day I close any pages that are open. I delete cookies and clear the cache. Then I either turn my Mac off or put it to sleep. The next day I start over with Safari. Sometime during the next day I do any search and the results come back on a page with a Microsoft Bing label/logo on the upper left side of the page and in the search bar at the top it says bing.com. From that point I can't get a page for Safari to load. I have to start over and hope Safari will work the next time. In research this last week I found out about something called the Bing redirect virus that sounds like what is happening. In the settings on my iMac Safari is the named search engine. I have never intentionally used Bing, and now I never will.

You can try a preview version of the new "AI powered co-pilot" technology with a limited number of Microsoft-prepared queries at bing.com/new and sign up to get on a waiting list for broader release. In coming weeks, Microsoft plans to offer it to millions of people and add a mobile version. For some examples, check out my colleague Laura Hautala's list of ways you'll be able to use Microsoft's new AI tools.
