When Wiz announced a deluxe version of Made in Lagos, some of us were scared he would ruin a near-perfect album with filler tracks, but alas, we were wrong. The standout track from this new version has become one of our favorite Wizkid songs. You know a song is a jam when it comes with a dance move. While Wizkid might have started the dance craze by chance, placing Anoti on this list was 100% intentional on our part.

\u2018Picture Perfect\u2019 - This is Wizkid's most underrated song. Sadly it is placed in his most underrated project - Sounds From the Other Side. 'Picture Perfect' was a prelude to his softer and calmer sound on 'Made In Lagos'. It just went above people's heads at the time. Today, many Wizkid fans acknowledge that \u2018Picture Perfect\u2019 is one of his most mature songs.

\u2018Smile\u2019 featuring H.E.R - The sound Wizkid was striving for on SFTOS fully blossomed on his next solo album - Made In Lagos. With \u2018Smile\u2019, Wizkid made a clean breakaway from his previous sounds and landed a cool and smooth style that would push his international career further. This is perhaps the best song on MIL.

\u2018No Lele\u2019 - For a song that was not a single from Wizkid's classic debut album 'Superstar', it has been very relevant. There has hardly a party where the DJ does not play this song. The way No Lele starts is arguably Wizkid's best intro to a song. A decade after, this song still sounds fresh.

Wizkid was born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun on 16 July 1990, in Surulere, Lagos.[13] He grew up in an interfaith household with twelve female siblings. His mother is a Pentecostal Christian and his father practices Islam.[1] Wizkid attended Ijebu Ode Grammar School.[14][1] He grew up listening to King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti and Bob Marley.[15] In a radio interview with Tim Westwood in 2012, he said that "his father has three wives".[16] In another interview with Adesope of Factory 78 TV, Wizkid said he formed a group called the Glorious Five with a couple of his church friends.[17] They managed to release an album prior to disbanding. Wizkid went by the stage name Lil Prinz until 2006.[18] He later met OJB Jezreel, a record producer who prevented him from recording for a year.[17] While visiting OJB's Point Beat Studios frequently, he watched 2 Face Idibia record songs for his Grass 2 Grace album. He was also present during the recording sessions for Sound Sultan's debut album Jagbajantis.[19][17] He cited Naeto C as one of the people who mentored and coached him when he was 15 years old. Wizkid inked a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment in 2009. He co-wrote "Omoge You Too Much", a song from Banky W.'s The W Experience album.[17][19] He also worked with Naeto C, Ikechukwu and M.I while developing his craft.[20] In mid-2009, he dropped out of Lagos State University (LASU). He later attended Lead City University, but dropped out after completing two sessions.[19]

Wizkid established Starboy Entertainment in March 2013.[104] He revealed to Yvonne Ekwere of Silverbird Television that he planned on signing new acts to the label.[40][105] Wizkid first signed Maleek Berry and Legendury Beatz to the label,[106] while Berry became an in-house producer.[107][108] In August 2013, Wizkid signed L.A.X to Starboy, as its first recording act.[109][110] In February 2016, DJ Tunez became the in-house disc jockey,[111] and in May 2016, Efya, R2Bees, and Mr Eazi were signed to the label.[112] Other artists signed to the label include Legendury Beatz, R2Bees, Terri, and Efya.[113][114][115] The label is currently managed by Jada P.[116] Starboy Entertainment has been nominated for a best record label award one by the City People Entertainment Awards and four times by The Beatz Awards.

In 2021, "Essence" was ranked as the number one best song of 2021 by American magazine Rolling Stone.[12] "Essence" was included in Spotify's Song of the Summer playlist in June 2021,[13] and in Barack Obama's favourite songs of 2020 playlist.[14] In October 2023, Billboard's staff ranked "Essence" as number 407 in their Best Pop Songs of all Time.[15] Time named it the second best song of 2021.[16]

It was a no-brainer, Wizkid was the best in his generation, while Wande Coal was equally the best among his peers. A collab joint between them then and now would have caused equal damage to the industry and rightly so.

Gidi Girl is one of the biggest songs on Wizkid`s golden Superstar album. It is a romantic R&B song that had all the high school kids in Africa at the edge of their seats, falling in love and passing love notes.

Bella Shmurda is one of the most popular street pop acts right now. The strength of his street validation and Wizkid`s infectious vibe produced one of the biggest songs out of Africa in the past year.

Mood is one of the best performing songs on the Made In Lagos Deluxe album, garnering millions of streams from all over the world and refusing to leave the charts no matter how strong the new wave of songs are.

Mood is a feature with rising star Buju, and has helped to further chart an upwards facing career trajectory for both Wizkid and Buju. Mood is one of the best feel good songs of 2021, and it doesn`t seem to be resting from its chart domination anytime soon.

Piece of Me is one of the most sensual songs on the acclaimed Made In Lagos album. It`s a sonorous feature with UK-based singer and songwriter Ella Mai. It`s a sonorous love number that expresses deep intimacy between two lovers who`re madly in love with each other.

Although the song was hit with a lot of criticisms, it was mostly what everyone was talking about in the country and eventually led to Wizkid & Tiwa Savage stealing the headlines both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom for a short period. Fever definitely deserves a spot among the top Wizkid songs ever.

There are a million and one reasons why i think WIZ KID is the best artist in Africa and this i have thought since 2011 when my BEST jam in the world for the year came from him, Tease me. But am only talking about his music.

Listening to the lyrics of the song gives you that Afro-pop rhythm which a lot of people are already vibing to. After listening to the song, I'd love to share with you seven of my best lines from the song and what I think about them.

This is one line which actually feels like the best line in the entire song because of its proverbial meaning. Apparently, his love interest is the only one who can satisfy him sexually or keep him calm (Not so sure which one he was talking about exactly).

Even though it feels like I have heard this line a number times on other songs, the lyric actually comes alive when you watch the video. Tiwa Savage actually looked fine and 'set' and yes Wizkid was right!
