Some older Audi models relied on 3G networks for some Audi connect services. In February 2022, wireless providers shut down access to these networks as they transitioned to 4G and 5G. To address this situation, Audi offers Motion for Audi connect services, a dealer-installed technology that allows drivers of older Audi models to access some Audi connect services. Certain older Audi models require a plastic SIM to enable vehicle connectivity. Newer models contain an embedded SIM that automatically connects the vehicle to a Mobile Network Operator like AT&T or Verizon.
