I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and I wanted to add some more wallpapers to it. So I copied some wallpapers to /usr/share/backgrounds. But the wallpaper changer (All settings --> Appearance --> Look) does not show the new images that I copied. What am I missing?

I think. A cause It's due to Permissions. Strangely, sometimes the Wallpapers are saved without permissions to group and others on User profile folder or Partition Data.Supposedly, the wallpapers need "Read permissions" to they, it being /usr/share/backgrounds/ a Root folder.

thanks for the help. The mistake I was making is when you first click on appearance there is a background on thaat page which I had set to white.but I think its refering to text rather than the background of the viewport

When we insert an app frame (with a white background) into Jam (white), at scale, our design becomes indistinguishable due to the white background of the board itself, and this cannot be changed.

Please add Background color setting to the FigJam board.

To Figma team developer I want a feature for the Figjam file ( drawing feature ) I want the feature to change the background to dark color because when I drawing something at night if Figjam has this feature dark color its will so good for my eyes.

I'm trying to create a new theme and I'm consistently unable to change the secondary background color. It is not possible to click on it from the second I create the theme and none of the changes I've tried have made it possible to change the color. Anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Currently, the secondary background color is shown in theme builder so it can be taken into account for color contrast calculations for accessibility, but it cannot be adjusted. It is determined automatically as a calculated variant of the primary background color.

We have discussed making the secondary background color adjustable, but there is some additional complexity involved due to the interrelatedness of theme colors. If this is something that is important to you and your organization, it would be great if you could please add a new idea on the ideas board with some information about why and how you'd use the capability to adjust the secondary background color and what value it would bring so others can also weigh in on this enhancement request.

I didn't see a specific Idea posted for this yet, did I overlook that, or any other updates on this functionality? We also would like control over that "Secondary background color" - the color that is automatically generated doesn't fit with our organization's branding color palette.

Yes, look around the CSS themes in Topics tagged theme-full for ones with background images and take a look at how they add opaqueness. Always good to draw on prior art. Eg Geometric, a dark theme for Discourse

While there is no possibility to change the background/canvas color, you could make your text visible by adding a big rectangle in the background of your mockup, modify its color and even lock the element if needed:

People want to right click on the screen and edit settings, including the background.

Technically you achieve showing white text using a rectangle, but having a rectangle as background is not user friendly.

I'm playing around with the character creation, trying out different things. But now I cannot change my background. Using the search function, people recommend to "just" drag and drop a new background into the field, but the system no longer opens the Backgrounds list. And I see no delete button either.

i have created template and multi instances of component,i want to change the background color of template for particular specific users(using MySQL database) in vision.

i took a Dropdown component and added users from database. i want to change the background color while selecting specific user.

no, what i am doing is.... I have one template and created its multi instances, i wants to change the background color of template which reflect in various instances taken in another screen.i have a database table which include some data having some null values. i took the dropdown and bind with sql query results data in dropdown. now i want to select the data in list of dropdown which having null values which will give the result to change background color of particular that instance which having null value.

While browsing through the backgruonds, it often happens to me that I first find one that I think is passable, and later try out another background which turns out to be worse. How can I get the previous background back?

I'm afraid there's not currently an option to revert the background selections, but I think it would be cool to see a section for recently used or favorite backgrounds. :( I would recommend to search for keywords that remind of you of that last background and see if you can locate it again in the selection menu.

I would also like a way to retrieve a background previously on a Board. I just accidentally changed a background and can't find it again! There are so many more pictures than when we first started with Trello.

You don't have to remove your photo background manually because Media.io AI technology has done the tedious task for you. It only takes a couple of seconds to make your image background transparent.

If you want to change what appears behind you in your video meeting or call, you can either blur your background, replace it entirely with any image you want, or use Teams virtual background template. And with a Teams Premium license, you can change your Teams meeting background to a branded logo or image specific to your company.

Select Blur to blur your background. You'll appear nice and clear while everything behind you is subtly concealed.

You can also replace your background with one of the images provided, or with one of your own choosing. To use an image of your own, select Add new and then select one to upload from your computer. Make sure it's a .JPG, .PNG, or .BMP file.

Our end users strongly prefer a dark mode layout on their desktops and mobile apps. We're running into a issue that sounds minor, but it makes the cards unreadable on the dash if we use any dark colors for a background.

I'm not surprised if you are having trouble as I have found changing background colors to be problematic. I believe there is hope in the coming months with the release of App Studio that was shown at DP23.

I have changed the font and general background color of C++ files in the editor as well as the colors of C++ syntactical elements. But the editor highlights sections of code that are "inactive" due to preprocessor statements ( #ifdef/#else/#endif), and I need to change the background color that it uses for this highlighting.

hi,

I just updated the new version of Shapr3D and got suprised. I got used to use light gray background and now it is dark, I can understand it is good for some people but not for me. It must be changeble and I can not change the background.

I just installed E2 Studio V7.8.0 and i am having a difficult time adjusting the highlight background color for a selected identifier. I have the "light" theme, but there is an integer variable "i" whose font is black and background color is a dark blue, meaning that i can't make out what the variable actually is.

And more obscure color editors scattered here and there, and i've tried pretty much every category, often with restarting E2 Studio for the changes to take effect (even after i have clicked "Apply"), but the background color doesn't change. I can see other colors changing, but not that background color.

My question is 2 parts: how do i change the background color? And, why is it so difficult to do something simple like changing editor font and background colors? In hte past i've used editors that allow you to click on dummy code in a window and modify that color directly, very quickly and efficiently. If the Eclipse developers are trying to deliberately obfuscate and needlessly over complicate the selection of font colors, backgrounds, highlights, etc., then they couldn't have done a better job. e24fc04721
