Armed with Wings introduces a world with a grey sky and black walls where living silhouettes are born from Blackmist, and dissipate into blackmist when they die. Here, a tyrant rules an empire, and has killed all who had rebelled against him. 5 years after that victory, one of the rebels he had killed returns to life, with the strength of a hero, and the spirit of an eagle. This is the protagonist of the series.

In the quest for vengeance against the King, Vandheer Lorde, who killed Lone Warrior and his fellow rebels, Lone Warrior have the aid of an eagle spirit he can release from within himself to move and retrieve objects, or distract his foes while he sneak up behind.

Armed with Wings: Rearmed is a totally overhauled version of Armed with Wings 1. It borrows the same general level structure and storyline, but introduces new mechanics, levels, bosses, cutscenes, music, and much more! It is also the first game to feature the redesigned model of Vandheer Lorde. Armed with Wings has a look much more similar to Lone Warrior from Culmination as well.

A forum post started a debate on the Sun-Studios site, where some players wished for highly detailed models, and others wanted the simple silhouettes. The vote for detailed models won, although it was decided that they would be toned down slightly. In newer models, the Lone Warrior looks more similar to how he did in Culmination, but with his scarf being the only different color on his sprite.

Armed with Wings Rearmed features cutscenes similar to Armed with Wings 3, although they will be more detailed and slightly more refined. Beside is an image taken from a cutscene of the game. In the picture, Vandheer's new image can be seen as well.

After each run through the game, the player's score is put towards unlocking new weapons and perks. These perks include things like increased power strike charge rate, faster movement speed, projectile attacks, and others. Weapons have different attributes: attack, defense, range, and speed, all of which are self-explanatory. Each weapon has different abilities built into it, with some allowing you to choose which abilities to use.

The player gains the ability to dodge, allowing them to avoid damage and potentially bypass some enemies without killing them. Although conventional jumping isn't available by default, chaining together multiple dodges causes you to jump forward. There is also a jump booster that can be chosen on certain swords, enabling a more traditional jump mechanic. This has affected the design of some puzzles and platforming levels.

Vandheer is a playable character in the game, with a new, unique moveset. He can be unlocked by beating the game as Lone Warrior. Reaching the final boss fight as Vandheer gives you some funny dialogue.

Lone Warrior in Armed with Wings form is also a playable character that can be unlocked by collecting every relic in the game and then beating a special challenge. For the most part, he plays similarly to Lone Warrior, but he moves more quickly, can teleport instead of dodging, and has a slightly different attack combo.

Darkness continues to plague the world of Blackmist. The Rebel Army is crushed, the war for freedom is lost and the Tyrant King Vandheer continues to rule with his cold, iron fist. However, the cries of the perished have not been ignored by the divine ones who seek to save the world from darkness. So by their hands the strongest of the fallen is resurrected, wielding celestial power and a sacred title, Armed with Wings.

You are the sword; cut down your foes with steel and thunder. You are the wings; explore the skies and uncover unreachable mysteries. Embark on a journey through a vicious world ruled by darkness and imperial tyranny - the lands of Blackmist.

The combat in this game is just a god damn mess, for 99% of the game you just spam the attack button and move. But when the "assasins" show up you start spamming one more button to stunlock them because with the movement, hitboxes and frame perfect enemy attacks you can't beat them otherwise. All of the issues with the movement and combat hit especially hard on the finall boss which is a totall Cock and Ball Torture. FRAME PERFECT, UNBLOCKABLE ATTACKS THAT SEND YOU FLYING INTO KAZAKHSTAN, WHO COULD POSSIBLY THINK THAT THIS ENCOUNTER WOULD NOT BE FUN???

Made as a follow up to the three Armed with Wings flash games that preceded it, Daniel Sun of Sun-Studios had created a polished and fully fleshed out experience for both newbies and fans of the previous games. Rearmed is a side scrolling platforming fighter with an incredibly deep combat system, as well as power ups and upgrades. The graphics are silhouette style much like Limbo, with very clean lines and great animations and design. When you mix the striking graphics with the awesome soundtrack, you really do have a recipe for success. But of course, that doesn't matter if the game isn't any fun, and thankfully it is.

The difficulty may be tied into the levelling up aspect of the game, much like a rogue-like where the more you play the more powerful you become, but that is a question that can only be answered with continued play, which I will be doing.

My recommendation for this title is simple: you should check it out. It is an early access title, which usually gives me pause, but considering the positive experience I have had so far with it, I have no problems offering up my recommendation for anyone who likes side scrolling brawlers. As with my previous spotlights, this is a game I discovered through my time at PAX Australia, and I was able to grab Daniel to shoot the breeze about music, flash, making games, and how much wub a TechRaptor should have in their diet. If that is something that interests you the video is below.

The world is now in silence, gone is the empire and the few villages that exist do so in peace. In the absence of the Gods, a great evil slowly plagues the earth. Embark on a great journey, armed with your eagle, you must stop this growing network of darkness.

Armed with Wings 3 consists 6 chapters, 6 epic boss battles and a total of 30 levels complimented by stunning art a compelling story. In addition there is a combat heavy survival mode and unlockable bonus content such as soundtrack and cutscenes.

Armed With Wings is a free flash game on Newgrounds created by Daniel-Sun. It's a unique platformer with elements of a puzzle game and a stealth game at once, since you can not only fight enemies with your sword, but also send out your eagle to solve a variety of difficult puzzles and distract enemies as you venture through the lands to reach and face the evil ruler himself. The game and all of its successors, are also made in a mostly black and white distinct art style, reminiscent of shadow theater. The game has become highly popular and spawned several sequels and a prequel, Red Moon.

But now, one of the rebels finds himself coming back to life. He has become Armed with Wings, the avatar of Blackmist, the divine matter that composes all beings of this world. Armed with Wings is one being in two - a man, and an eagle. With this new power, he now has another chance to defeat Vandheer Lorde once and for all.

Rearmed features a reasonably tropey narrative, but sometimes the classics are all the justification that you need for an old-fashioned sword-swinging adventure. An evil king has just put down a rebellion, but one rebel is returning from the grave to have another go at unseating the tyrant. A couple stylishly animated cut scenes provide most of the story and they help to set the scene nicely.

The monochromatic visual design is used to good effect in Rearmed and the game manages to convey a unique style that is somewhat oppressive. The music is even better, and some of the later tracks are superb. The soundtrack does a great job of creating an increasingly tense atmosphere towards the end of the game.

Armed with Wings: Rearmed is a solid platforming action game with enough replay value to ensure that most players will be coming back for more after their first run-through. I felt the puzzles were a little lacking in depth, but this is compensated for by the more enjoyable combat and platforming segments. This is all underscored by an engaging soundtrack that ramps up in quality as the game goes on. If edgy platformers with satisfying swordplay are your thing, then Armed with Wings: Rearmed is worth a look.

The events of Armed with Wings 2 are situated directly after Armed with Wings 1. This time, you play the part of Vandheer Lorde as he struggles to regain his throne from Armed with Wings. The game is also a fighting platformer like Red Moon.

In 2011, Daniel-Sun released Culmination, which follows the side story of Lone Warrior during the events of Armed With Wings 3 as he sets out on his own, blinded by rage, to slay Vandheer Lorde. That goes well. Culmination is a short, pure fighting platformer with no puzzle elements nor level system, but it really tones up the epic attacks and combos. Thanks to a deal made between Sun Studios and Cartoon Network, the game can also be played in the form of a Young Justice (2010) flash game called Shadow Mission, which replaces the Lone Warrior with Robin and the Big Bad with Young Justice villain Klarion, and whose plot involves Robin being pulled into a shadow dimension and having to fight his way out with the help of the other members of his team. 006ab0faaa
