For the last few weeks, most apps haven't been working when my Fold4 has been connected to my home WiFi network. If I disconnect and go back to mobile data, the apps work fine. No other devices in my house are having this issue including multiple laptops, gaming consoles, tablets, my smart TV, and others. The weird thing is that some apps *do* work on wifi including my phone's web browser and Snapchat. But apps like Signal, most games that require a connection, my banking apps, and others just don't work at all and will give me errors about no connection being available.

Perhaps it is already set to never sleep via optimized apps setting? If you want to see it under never sleep, perhaps try adding the app to optimized apps list first. (Apps > Special Access > Optimize battery usage > all > check app) Then it should appear in the list that allows you to add to never sleep list? But either way it achieves intended effect to let it run in background without killing app i guess. This was the case for me.

So I assume Samsung should allow to display all the apps at allow app to work in background and disable app from sleep features at the same time. Then user can select , not when enable one disappear from other.

Hi yes there is a solution. I just worked it out, i went to apps on my galaxy s23 ultra and chose the app (AVG) and clicked on battery then changed to optimised then went back to accessibility and never sleeping app clicked plus sign and avg was there this time and i added it

Generally, you can change notification sounds for a particular app in the settings in the app itself, or going through the phone's settings--I've seen the option located in sounds, notifications, and under apps (I'm pretty sure most phones that I've done this on had multiple directions you could come at it from), in the past.

If you click on "in-app notification settings," it takes you to the app settings (pic 3)..... But clicking on notifications takes you right back to the phone's settings: apps:messages:notifications (pic 2).

There are apps on my phone that I never open, because I don't need to, but I can't have them disabled just because my phone decides to get creative without my permission. Weatherbug. I use it everyday in the notification bar to see the temperature at a glance and in the notification panel if I want more info. Today it was gone. I saw someone say in the battery settings there is a three dot icon to turn this invasive feature off but my Android 10 doesn't have it anymore. But it once did. This is why I don't update, everytime I do, I lose features or something breaks. I'm really mad that this broke without me even updating, it's really upsetting that Android can mess with your stuff even without permission. (No, I'm definitely not updating to 11. I purposely, meticulously back out of that up update prompt every single morning when my phone restarts. I want THIS os, where everything worked until right now. Ugh) Here of a screenshot where the three dots were, but aren't now, even though I purposely didn't update the stupid thing to avoid this very type of situation. Is there any other way of getting the phone to mind its own business and to stop disabling my stuff? I've searched in settings and nothing. I really don't want to have to manually open every app on my phone on a monthly basis like a regular phone period because Samsung wants to take away all your freedom like apple.

No. That's not what I'm talking about. It's what I described. Three dots that lead to more options like "auto disable unused apps." You'll see this option. Here are the instructions I followed when I first got the phone.............

I've just noticed the same problem after installing a load of apps on my new Tab S8. Half (which I haven't used yet) are all disabled. First problem I have with this is that I may not use an app all the time - but that doesn't mean I want it disabling.

Second problem with this is security. Disabled apps don't get updated so there's a huge risk - I've also verified this by checking for updates, then re-enabling an app and checking updates. Surprise, surprise, there is now an update for the previously disabled app. So let's say I haven't used my banking app for a while and there has been a security issue with the app which was updated. I enable my banking app (which was disabled), go to use it and I'm now vulnerable because it hasn't been updated. Why would you make decisions like this?!?

I'm using Meraki MDM. Using Device Owner mode, all the bloatware is stripped out of the phones. However, on my newest test phones - the Note 8 - this also strips useful (and "non-installable") apps such as the Galaxy Apps Store and the Theme Chooser. I managed to get the apps store back by ripping it from a standard setup phone, but the theme manager isn't cooperating. It installs, but when I long press and go to wallpapers, it gives a toast message that the app isn't installed.

Thank you so much! This absolutely fixed the issue and allowed me access to all the system apps. Now what I'd like to do is start to whitelist the apps I want to allow, but the list I can choose from is very short (only 10 apps), and when I type a name into the box, I just get a black and white "thinking" circle in the right of the box forever.

Here's what gets transferred: contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, photo albums, files and folders, accessibility settings, display settings, web bookmarks, mail accounts, WhatsApp messages and media, and calendars. If they're available on both Google Play and the App Store, some of your free apps will also transfer. After the transfer completes, you can download any free apps that were matched from the App Store.

Therefore, the goal is to protect the privacy of personal activities on company devices, and provide IT admins with adequate control over the personal side of the device. For enterprises that still need full control over a device while enabling authorized third-party business apps, Samsung exclusively offers an additional option called Separated Apps. Separated Apps isolates third-party apps in a securely separated folder that prevents unauthorized access to confidential work data.

After you've set up the work profile, you may see duplicate apps on your device. For example, you could have two Outlook apps. Use the version that's marked with the briefcase whenever you're doing work-related tasks.

Once you've set up a work profile, your organization can automatically install work apps on your device. You can access all work apps in the work profile. The location of the work profile varies by device manufacturer and Android version. This section describes where to find the work profile in the app drawer and on the home screen.

So my phone has a number of apps I've installed through the play store as any other regular user, but when I go and check "all permissions" for it, I get a ridiculous list of permissions for apps that never ask for any of them at all. Any idea why this is happening? Below are screenshots of "all permissions" for LinkedIn as an example... thanks in advance.[[enter image description here]( )]( )

Yes, Samsung - a dominant vendor in the Android market - is now using one of the nastiest battery saving techniques in the industry. They kill background processes and render alarm clocks and other apps which rely on background processing useless. See below for workarounds.

NOTE: It is very hard to keep up with all the changes in the system settings layout and their modifications across all the combinations of phones and Android versions. If you find a different layout, or different name, let us know.

On Android 11 Samsung will prevent apps work in background by default unless you exclude apps from battery optimizations. This is a severe divergence from standard Android process management policies.

Yes, this is a long way to go! Devs cannot ask for it automatically as they risk being kicked out from Play Store due to policy violations.

Your company IT admin has set up Knox Workspace on your phone, and all your work apps and data are safely stored in a secure container. You can feel confident that your work data will remain secure while your personal information, outside the container, will remain private.

Another aspect to take into account within Samsung Good Lock is the utility called \"Task Changer\". By means of this feature, you will be able to adapt the style in which the apps and games that you have recently used are displayed in order to better access these elements. In addition, at any time you can modify the wallpapers you use or design your own creations to give a more personal touch to the interface.

Uptodown is a multi-platform app store specialized in Android. Our goal is to provide free and open access to a large catalog of apps without restrictions, while providing a legal distribution platform accessible from any browser, and also through its official native app.

Folders in Samsung Notes can be selected individually to sync with Microsoft apps. The sync relationship of a selected folder is indicated in Settings, with a small OneNote icon displayed after the folder name.

App Hider

The customizable App Hider lets you hide apps on your Android and manage them from different accounts on your device. The app-hider icon is even disguised as a calculator.

The Guest Mode feature included in many Android phones lets you share your device with another person, while hiding apps and sensitive data saved on your personal profile. Search for guest user in Settings to set up the guest account and switch between your personal and guest profiles. 006ab0faaa
