Newbie here. I am in need to integrate software released in AppImage form to my Kubuntu 20.04 system.For that I always used appimagelauncher, which worked like a charm until when I tried to integrate another software. Last time it worked was about a year ago.Now, when launched, appimagelauncher tells me 'Failed to move AppImage to target location.Try to copy AppImage instead?'If I answer Yes, I get 'Failed to copy AppImage to target location'.

I had an identical problem. For me, the issue was that I had manually created a menu item that launched an .AppImage file -- I believe before I had actually installed appimagelauncherd, if that's possible.

Hi guys. AppImageLauncher no longer is working on Fedora 38.

Not only it does not work it prevents appimage apps from running which essentially breaks the apps. Only way to make appimage apps to work is to uninstall appimagelauncher and then reboot.

Hello. I downloaded the archive from the Internet, so obviously the program is not in the devuan repositories. To run programs through this program, systemd is NOT required, but as I understand it, its presence is necessary (?), because when you start the terminal, it gives an error that systemd is missing for appimagelauncher.

I removed the AppImage launcher using apt uninstall appimagelauncher and deleted the appimage files from ~/Applications as well but it didn't remove the two apps I had imstalled using appimage i.e. Visual studio code and OnlyOffice. I can still see their menu entry when I search for them.

I will be doing this on my machine connected to the Steamdeck via SSH. You can do this locally via Firefox or something too by downloading the latest appimagelauncher-lite package ending in x86_64.AppImage from the releases page.

Next, you can check the second tab and ensure that the backend daemon, appimagelauncherd, it set to run as a service. This will keep monitoring for new AppImages into the default folder (and other folders if you want it to). 17dc91bb1f
