I have been using the lock screen pattern for a little over a year now and I always remembered it so it was no biggie. Today, literally out of nowhere, my phone asks me to enter a password. I have no idea why it asked me this, so I tried entering a variety of passwords. All it does is lock the phone for 30 seconds before I can try entering another password once I've had too many tries.

I have no idea what password it wants from me, I only have so many and I tried all of them. It says: "Use password after restart (before I restarted it said Use password to unlock screen), Your password contains at least 4 characters, including at least 1 letter." What password?! See, that's why I hate installing updates, this is just bull*****. I also tried to unlock my phone using Find My Phone and it does not work as it is not connected to the network (I tried restarting it before and I guess that screwed me now). I honestly don't even know if a factory reset would work at this stage, since it does not show any notifications either (apart from: Phone restarted, Unlock your phone to get app notifications).

I got the same issue. I was using the same password for years and never forget it in my life. Also, my password is not 4 characters and one letter. I'm sure, it's Samsung issue.

One important thing is-----I haven't installed the latest update of Samsung for over a month even though the notification keeps showing continuously. If you too ignored the Samsung latest update then we can 100% confirm that it is Samsung issue.

It would be great if a person from Samsung replies here

Found the problem. When I first tried to set up my email or my outlook app on my S22. It kept asking me to set up a new password. I finally figured this out and it took me to settings and I just used the same password again for my outlook email password.

Today all of a sudden my phone locks me out and is asking for a password. I had no idea what password it wanted, then I read something about a password set up in settings and I remembered I set up a password in settings for my outlook email, I tried that password and my phone immediately unlocked and functioned normally again.

Kevin B - thank you for the above. I set up Outlook email on my new S22 ultra this week so will bear it in mind when mine next locks up. I've had this problem since I used a train charge socket last November (irrelevant but it never happened to me prior to then). I had a galaxy S10 then. Now got a new S22 ultra and sim but it still continually locks me out, won't recognise any password, and a relative has to re-set the password for me remotely. Ridiculous situation. Are Samsung looking at this?

Press the Touch ID sensor using Touch ID to unlock your device. To unlock your device using Touch ID without pressing the Touch ID sensor, go to Settings > Accessibility > Home Button [or top button] and turn on Rest Finger to Open.

My fingerprint scanner also stopped working. No issues with the passcodes. Custer support was no help because its beyond the warranty date. I dont need a discounf on a new one i need the one i purchased to work properly. If so many people are having the same issue it must be some sort of defect. Has anyone been able to fix theirs?

If your fingerprint sensor light was off when pressing your finger on it, please check the wire and carefully reconnect the connector between the Interior Assembly and the Exterior Assembly. Guide to Disconnect/Reconnect the Keypad Wire

Currently with a Samsung Galaxy S8, but I believe this is common to other devices, I can setup fingerprint unlock which requires a password when the device starts up or if I fail to scan my finger correctly a few times.

A somewhat silly scenario to illustrate the need: suppose I fall asleep on the train, I don't want anyone to be able to scan my finger and unlock my phone. I still want the comfort of unlocking the phone with my finger while knowing that after a while it will lock itself and require a password.

Can anyone help me with logging in to Bitwarden on my laptop windows 10 using chrome? Is it possible to use a fingerprint reader on my laptop, which I do have one, in opening this app in place of master password? If so, how do you do it, as i do not see any options for this.

I have it set to lock as I have 2FA verification on this and do not want to have to re-authenticate the manager again to enter. I also have it set to 1 hour as the vault timeout, but each time I minimize this screen, which actually sends it to the app itself and not in a minimized window, I end up having to enter my master password again to get into my vault. I am either doing something incorrectly or this program is not meant to be minimized, because it does not minimize to reenter on clicking on the app in the taskbar.

My goal is to be able to log in with a master password and a 6 symbol authentication app as my 2FA and to be able to disable it for each device i am using the 2FA on. This is a feature on many sites whereby the login site remembers your 2FA device for a given time. However, it is not remembering my master password ever in Bitwarden. Even if I had a fingerprint method of using on my laptop, I could use it for that, but I do not see one to use for laptop.

Can someone share with me how they use the manager and if I am doing something wrong, as i have to have all these websites locked down with hard passwords and in many cases I am using Yubico Authenticator as my 2FA app and use the touch key method since this allows me more latitude in using my password manager on any device, and it is not registered by key for only one computer. Yubikey users will know what I am talking about with that.

Can you suggest a better way to use it without having to enter my master password while it is opened and then after a short interval, I have to re enter MP again. Even though time out is set at 30 min.

Biometric door locks use personally identifiable information in lieu of a traditional key. They use a thermal or optical scanner to store the fingerprints of anyone authorized to unlock your door. Once the scanner determines that you are an authorized user, it prompts you to input a PIN to unlock the door ff782bc1db
