My fingerprint scanner also stopped working. No issues with the passcodes. Custer support was no help because its beyond the warranty date. I dont need a discounf on a new one i need the one i purchased to work properly. If so many people are having the same issue it must be some sort of defect. Has anyone been able to fix theirs?

After last update my lock will not respond to the fingerprint scanner upon unlock, but scanner works for adding new users. I wanted to roll back Firmware to see if anything got broken by last update. Got response from support that manual updates not provided anymore - this is outrageous. Was offered a new lock at 30% discount instead as I am out of warranty. I am not going to be doing that if that is a way company handles old clients.

You can name additional fingerprints with the Wyze Lock Bolt, or am I missing something? If you connect to the Wyze Lock Bolt, Click On Settings, Click on Access Settings, Click on Other Users and Tap on one of the Fingerprints. Yes, that is the work around. I do see the value in being able to add or change the name. I guess you could document which is Fingerprint 1, etc. but I think the lock will still only show the one name.

Would like to be able to identify the fingerprints by name instead of by a number. Not knowing which finger is assigned to the number makes it impossible to delete the one that may not be working to redo it.

HOWEVER, I can still add/record fingerprints and the circle light comes on! So I guess some firmware level bug? It feels like the fingerprint scanner is locked out or something. The number pad still works fine.

I have a kwikset zigbee lock with keypad that works perfect, but i have 2 other doors. On our main door i would love to have one with a fingerprint technology in it, but so far my searches have came up short. Any suggestions? I have the following problem. I'm trying to make an app that locks the screen. The method via DevicePolicyManager works very well. So far so good. But when I lock my phone with DPM the fingerprint unlocking method is disabling and I have to enter my pattern (or PIN or whatever I set) to unlock the phone. If I lock it the normal way (ie with power button) the fingerprint unlocking works.

That is the normal flow. It takes the device to restarted state where the device will ask for a pattern or password. Google have not provided any api for this. You can check any app in PlayStore which has locking feature will behave like this.

I have been using the lock screen pattern for a little over a year now and I always remembered it so it was no biggie. Today, literally out of nowhere, my phone asks me to enter a password. I have no idea why it asked me this, so I tried entering a variety of passwords. All it does is lock the phone for 30 seconds before I can try entering another password once I've had too many tries.

I have no idea what password it wants from me, I only have so many and I tried all of them. It says: "Use password after restart (before I restarted it said Use password to unlock screen), Your password contains at least 4 characters, including at least 1 letter." What password?! I also tried to unlock my phone using Find My Phone and it does not work as it is not connected to the network (I tried restarting it before and I guess that screwed me now). I had no idea what password it wanted, then I read something about a password set up in settings and I remembered I set up a password in settings for my outlook email, I tried that password and my phone immediately unlocked and functioned normally again.

Kevin B - thank you for the above. I set up Outlook email on my new S22 ultra this week so will bear it in mind when mine next locks up. I've had this problem since I used a train charge socket last November (irrelevant but it never happened to me prior to then). I had a galaxy S10 then. Now got a new S22 ultra and sim but it still continually locks me out, won't recognise any password, and a relative has to re-set the password for me remotely. Ridiculous situation. Are Samsung looking at this?

The little guy is growing up and soon needs to be able to unlock the door on his own. Keys or tags he will definately lose the first day and the current app based lock is a no starter without a smart phone. PIN is also questionable if he will remember.

There are locks with fingerprint scanners out there, that would work for him. But how does it work in practice? My laptop fails to recognize my fingerprint more often than it succeeds and of course there has been many security scares about finger print scanners being fooled easily.
