Notably, officially, one WhatsApp account can be opened only on one smartphone. "Your WhatsApp account can only be verified with one number on one phone. If you have a dual SIM phone, please note that you still must choose one number to verify with WhatsApp. There is no option to have a WhatsApp account with two phone numbers," the company said on its FAQ page.

Whats the issue with Signal?

I am using it with dual SIM and it lets me select SIM1 or SIM2 or Data(If the other part has Signal, not sure what to call it). It will also remember my choice.

Or do you already have two accounts for Signal and dont want to combine the two?

I use Whatsapp Business for the second number. There are other ways like adding another user account or I think apps like shelter would work as well, however to me its easiest to just use 2 different apps

Hi @yvmuell,

Many thanks for your quick feedback!

Does it mean that there is a major change from Android 10 (my previous phone) to Android 11 (my FP4) in terms that dual-sim-dual-account is not supported any more with WhatsApp?

Is this an Android feature or is it specific to FP / Samsung (my old phone)?

Best regards

Bernhard

Anyone faced this issue that you can't share captured image directly from WhatsApp(error message: sharing failed, please try again!) and you can't find your medias and database files even though your show in gallery option is enabled..? I'm only noticed this today. My primary WhatsApp is working fine. I'm not sure what caused this issue whether it's from WhatsApp update or Samsung dual messenger. I've seen a XDA Thread about the new WhatsApp update that they moved the file location to Android/Media/com.whatsapp/whatsapp

Update 6 - 16/09/2021: As many users reported finally Samsung is rolling out a new software update. Before updating make sure you have a proper backup of your dual WhatsApp including media. Some users are complained about the 'old' media issue which can only be fixed by reinstalling of the dual WhatsApp. So do a google drive backup or via the method I mentioned in Update 5. Thank you everyone.. cheers..!

I have two instances of WhatsApp on my Note8. When I receive a message on my primary WhatsApp, I get notifications instantly as normal. However, on my dual WhatsApp, I don't get notifications unless I open the app.

I've gone to Settings->Notifications and there is only one 'WhatsApp' app listed and notifications are enabled. However, this cannot be where the issue is as the notifications are fine for the primary app, just not the dual app.

Manufacturers including Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, Huawei, Honor, OnePlus, and Realme allow its users to set up dual apps or parallel apps or twin apps. They use different terminologies for what is essentially a feature that allows users to have two separate versions of the same app, thus allowing for two different apps. Read on to find out how you can enable this feature on different phones.

After update to UI 4.0 in my Galaxy S21 Ultra I have exactly the same problem with dual WhatsApp - cannot send nor receive voice messages, nor photos. For the moment I went to WhatsApp Business. What a *****!

I am facing the identical issues with the dual wats app post updating the software to One UI4 on my Samsung S21+ on 29.11.2021. The 01.12.2021 update too of no use. Unable to download files or send files on the dual app. Even on the facebook app the links are not opening and upon clicking the link the app crashes.

The first and simplest option is also the safest workaround to make two WhatsApp accounts work on the same device. WhatsApp also comes as a WhatsApp Business application on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. This method also works for iOS users, so follow this method to get dual WhatsApp accounts on iPhone.

The final and the least recommended method for using dual WhatsApp accounts on the same phone is via GB WhatsApp. This app allows you to use an additional installation of WhatsApp on your phone and run multiple accounts or dual WhatsApp accounts parallelly.

These are the multiple methods you can use to enable various WhatsApp accounts on the same mobile phone; these methods can be beneficial if you use a Dual SIM smartphone. While all the above methods work for an Android phone, you can use the WhatsApp Business method for using dual WhatsApp accounts on iPhone.

Hi @ayham_aboalheem, sorry to hear that you're having this issue with Whatsapp, and have this perspective of Samsung. We do take customer feedback very seriously, and always do our best to take suggestions on board to improve our products and services.

With the Whatsapp issue, a software update will be released to resolve this issue of dual Whatsapp's files not appearing in Gallery. The issue arose due to the file path being changed for where media files are saved.

As far as I know, you can only use one account (one phone number) in whatsapp even though you have two SIM cards. So the only way I guess you could use two different accounts is creating another android user (in the quick settings menu sliding from the top) and usings the second SIM number in the new android account.

Nowadays, people are preferring to have a dual Sim smartphone in which they can run two mobile networks. One for personal use and another one for official purpose. At the same time, most of the people are using WhatsApp messenger in their smartphones, but there is a limitation. We are unable to use two separate accounts in WhatsApp on one smartphone.

With this new "Dual Messenger" feature you are able to use and run two separate WhatsApp accounts simultaneously on your same Samsung Galaxy mobile phone. More interestingly, you can also the dual accounts of Facebook, Skype, Snapchat, WeChat, Viber, LINE and more.

Most phones these days in India come with dual SIM slots, allowing users to have one number dedicated to work and the other for their personal life. While WhatsApp does not officially support two accounts on a single device, people still manage to set two up.

But thank app developers there is a way to have 2 WhatsApp accounts on one phone. You only need to install a certain app and have a dual sim phone or another phone you can borrow for a few minutes (literally less than 2 minutes) so that you can receive a WhatsApp verification code for the second WhatsApp number.

For android 8.0.0 on my sumsung. It comes pre installed with secure folder. Which allows you to run 2 different whatsapp accounts, fb you name it the list is endless. Or you csn go to settings. Advanced features, dual messanger. And switch on the app that you want.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced today that you can soon log into two separate WhatsApp accounts on your phone without hacks or workarounds. Setting up a second account requires a phone with dual SIM connectivity, as you can't log in without entering the one-time verification code from the second number. Removing the second SIM card after that won't log you out from any accounts, though.

In past, users had to use 3rd party dual apps to install and create a copy of WhatsApp in their smartphones to be able to add their second WhatsApp account. Some clever users take advantage of WhatsApp for Business app to use another account in their smartphone. Actually WhatsApp provides a special edition of its app for business which can be installed and used alongside with regular WhatsApp.

Many smartphones companies such as Samsung also provide their users dual app functionality built-in. Users can use this functionality to use 2 WhatsApp accounts in 1 smartphone. We posted an exclusive tutorial about this feature in following article:

The option can be accessed via Settings > Arrow next to your name > Add account. However, there's a catch: you need to have both SIM cards active on the same phone. In other words, this means that your smartphone needs to support dual SIM cards.

While the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and newer models support dual SIMs, these devices have a SIM card tray that only supports one physical SIM card. This means the other line has to be an eSIM, which according to Apple's support page, is currently only offered by M1. The other telcos don't offer the use of an eSIM with an iPhone.

With the popularity of dual-SIM phones, many people are curious about using two WhatsApp numbers on the same phone. It can be for personal reasons, managing your work calls more efficiently, and so on.

Many Android phones, including Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, Realme, Vivo, etc., have a built-in dual or parallel app feature. Once enabled, this feature allows users to use the two versions of the same app, including WhatsApp.

If your Android phone doesn't come preinstalled with the Cloner, dual, or Parallel app feature, you can still run two WhatsApp in one phone. In that case, you have to get assistance from several third-party apps like "Parallel Space."

This is how you can use dual WhatsApp on popular smartphones such as Samsung, OnePlus, Realme, Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, and more. In case, you have got any other device such as Tecno and Infinix, the process to clone apps would remain pretty much the same. That said, stock-Android devices such as Pixel, Nokia, and Motorola lack this option. You will have to download a third-party app to use dual WhatsApp. 2351a5e196
