Now to give the movie credit the animation is solid and the CGI used for the phantom soldiers is extremely nice. Also Munsu does bring up a good point about living when he tells the people of a village to not hope for someone to come rescue them but to stand up themselves, then he ruins that nice scene by telling them to leave or he will kill them himself. Look I dont mind if a story has a dark feel to it but you got to give the audience someone to care about or your pretty much just showing them a hour and half of brutality and asshole characters. If you wanted your audience to feel bad it would be quicker and cheaper just to kick a puppy, you feel the same after seeing either one. With that I give Blade of the Phantom Master 4/10 and a warning not to watch it, the animation and fights are nice but not worth the non existing story and horrible characters. If you want to watch a better anime about wandering warriors check out Moribito or Trigun.
