A day or two ago, my Moto G6 started showing an analog clock on the lock screen. There used to be a digital one. I am not seeing any corresponding settings under Display or Security/Lock screen. Not sure how this happened.

On Android 12 and up, the lock screen clock is large by default until you receive notifications. On Samsung phones, you may choose a more oversized lock screen clock style from Lock screen > Clock style > Lock screen > Type.

I've got an analogue clock with a digital clock underneath on my app, how do I change the time on the clocks - take on or off a number of hours? For example, I may want the clock to display the time in Florida, so for me that'd be -6 hours.

I found that the previous answers didn't work for me. I found a simple solution. Just create your own custom drawable for the clock's background, and set the android:dial attribute. You can create your drawable as large as you need. Surely if you want your clock to look pretty you must create two drawables for hours and minutes too. You can simply copy default drawable(s) to somewhere and resize them with an image editor:

yes it is possible to put second hand in android analog clock i have done that in my application please see it help you, if you find any error than comment here for it.here the link is you can find it here in link

For an analog clock, we don't really need to worry about AM vs PM. An hour value of 14 (2:00 PM) gives us a rotation of 420 degrees, which is equivalent to a rotation of 60 degrees as far as the circle of the clock is concerned.

This is all well and good, but it's just a FeatureSet right now, and a far cry from a nice analog clock. How do we turn this into something visual? I had initially tried to misuse an existing widget, like a circular progress meter or a pie chart. Ultimately, these did not work well enough to pass as a standard clock, but did make for interesting widgets.

Rather like my themometer1 question, I want to arrange to display the results of the smartphone clock on the smartphone. At present I am seeing a screenful of java (?) when I do thisimage1098230 31.6 KB

Fortunately, it did. Android 13 came with this toggle which now makes it possible to use your desired clock style in the lock screen. Since Android 13 has yet to roll out to devices other than the Google Pixel phones, these instructions and screenshots below on how to use this are specific to the Pixel launcher.advertisement

I have an Amazon Clock in every room of my home. One day, I would like to replace it with a clock that can be synchronized to my HA server. The Amazon Clock is cool, because when time changes, it adjusts. What I am asking for, it will of course have to be manufactured. Amazon only offers one clock that is always available and a Mickey Mouse version that is always sold out. It would be cool if HA were able to use WIFI or Zigbee to receive daily updates of time and date to be displayed on a clock joined to HA. I would like to see some clocks that are digital to display just time, time and date, and other data. I would also like a few analog clocks.

For the second method, lock your phone and activate Peek Display by moving your phone or tapping its screen. Then, tap and hold the current clock face. Here, you can swipe between the three available clock faces.

While there are only three available clock faces for Peek Display, each offers a few customization options that might better fit your style. They all fulfill their primary purpose, however, which is to provide useful information without the need to unlock your phone.

For those of us who struggle with the passage of time without visualizing through use of an analog clock this is exhausting. I wish apple would support those with disabilities and who are neurodivergent through this accessibility option

Since this is an old thread, which was started before iOS 17, Apple does now offer this feature. But if you want it, you'll need buy yourself an iPhone 15 Pro model or iPhone 14 Pro Model (they're discontinued, but some may still be available at resellers) with an Always on Display and use Standby Mode. That will give you an analog clock on the screen.

My hope is someone from apple is/will read this and take it to the design team for consideration. Im one of many who use a watch tobtell me waht time it isnt. A digital watch is forcthose whobusevitvtovtellvwhatvtime it is. Youre either someone when asked for the time you reply its 2:13 or your tge thpe who replies its quater past 2. In our mind its a litte before something or a little past something or almost something etc. Using a digital clock im always stopping to convert what time it is to this alternate terminology. Its just to draining so i wear an analog watch. And the liitle widget they do offer is just silly. Give me a bug effin full screen analog click face. Come on man.

I put in a new clock face, but my battery started dying in less than a day. So I am trying to get that one off and apply a new one. My phone is stuck on "switching"--for a day now. I have tried restarting both my watch and phone as well as deleting the app on my phone, but the problem persists. I cannot stop the switching process or choose another clock face. I keep getting the message that I can't switch until current switch is complete or a message that switch failed with option to try again or later. No option to cancel. Help!!

Hi there, I'm very late to this discussion but have just had this same issue on my Fitbit versa. I tried all of the tips, restarting Fitbit and phone, checking Bluetooth connection, uninstalling app, clearing cache and data, allowing permissions, nothing worked. If was still stuck on switching clocks in the app. I tried scrolling through my Fitbit and where it has my saved clocks, I tried to select a new one. My phone wouldn't allow me to do this, but my Fitbit did! The last clock saved was the one I had stuck switching in the app for days. So I am able to switch between clocks that I have saved, but the app is still stuck "switching". Very frustrating but at least I can change between a few different clocks in the meantime!

We have done all the known tinkering from checking for updates + refreshing (phone, app, Watch), getting the phone and watch to sync, disconnecting and turning off phone/app/watch (iPhone 11 and is correctly set up), changed the battery.... But no, the analogue still incorrect and showing a different time each time! And yes we need the analogue watch face to help our daughter learn to tell the time that way, as well as the easy digital way! Thoughts re the watch? anyone else have the same issue?

While GO Clock does offer you both analog and digital selections, the analog options are unusually good. The app is based on GO Launcher EX. Customization is key, with nine different themes supported, and the ability to choose different sizes of clocks. You do have to install the latest version of GO Launcher EX in order for the widget to work.

Optimized for tablets and HD compliant (kind of like having a 3D analog clock widget), Analog Clock Wallpaper/Widget also comes with an integrated alarm clock. Need an analog clock for your lock screen? Look no further.

The Night Clear Analog Clock widget app comes with a dynamic theme creator for all android phones. This app has a 3D/4D (parallax) feature as well as magic touch effects (colorful particles and sounds). This is the coolest one in our list so far.

So these are the analog clock widgets apps for Android that we liked the best. Do you have other analog clock widgets to add to the list? Of these apps, which did you find to be most useful, or the best-looking? Feel free to let us know in the comments!

An Analog Clock is a widget that enables the display of a classic analog watch, as opposed to the DigitalClock which displays time with text. The clock uses a background image as the clock face. The hour, minute and second hands are each using an image and rotate around a configurable center.

I use either Sony clock or digital clock on lock screen. However, it will get changed to analog clock for no reason. Few times already. Changed it back to digital/Sony clock, but it goes back to analog clock after awhile (days).

The clock on the lock screen can also be changed if you press and hold at the clock for 2-3 seconds > Swipe left or right when you see that it's marked. Thereby, my thought if you were sure that the phone was locked when you put the phone in the pocket e.g.

I have not experienced this behaviour and just like Thommo said, the clock should stick as long as you don't change it or have any application that affect it. Are you sure that you lock the screen when you put the phone in your pocket or similar?

Its ok. I didnt do my research and found an analog on ebay. I like it, but now i have my eyes on a chrono. At least i wont be curious about analog anymore. Note. 1st time using a clock of any sort. So its still good to me, till i get the digital.

Those of us old-timers loved the BHB's. I have personally seen players throw them against the wall in a fit of rage and they still worked fine; they are durable. And to walk into a tournament and hear 20-30 clocks all ticking away--that was the sound-bed of tournament chess; if you had heard that and it didn't get your competitive juices flowing, you weren't a true chess player. Some other things about them: in a time scramble, you never knew exactly how many seconds were left, so you could do the "clock gambit" moves--play a risky move and watch the other guy try to estimate whether he has 6 seconds or 30 seconds to figure it out (a thing of the past with digital). You could adjust the attenuator to make one side run faster/slower than the other, which led to some amusing incidents, like in the 2nd World Open, where 10 minutes after the round started one guy used 20 minutes already. Another trick was to wind your opponents side of the clock tight, while leaving your side loose--the loose side would run a little slower than the tight side. I'd say that most people would use my points here as an arguement against analog clocks, but I still have a place in my heart for them. 006ab0faaa
