Any hispanic math enthusiasts in here who have worked with this book? I remeber back in highschool a number of my math teachers said that as teenagers they'd corrected some mistakes in the book and went on to study math. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the book. I'm thinking of trying it because I myslef am hispanic and this was a popluar algebra book that I never got to try out.

The title explains it all, but let me provide some background here as well. When I was in high school, because I was in a special ed math class, after the ninth grade they stopped teaching algebra and instead taught "practical mathematics" which was basically word problems for basic functions. I graduated from HS in 2011. My ACT score was poor enough in Math that I'm required to take a remedial algebra course before I can take regular college algebra. So, basically, I was screwed by the public education system and now have pretty much no foundation for algebra beyond the basics like solving equations and exponent rules.
