Our Toastmasters meeting is structured around three main parts: prepared speeches, impromptu speaking (Table Topics), and constructive evaluations, usually lasts about one hours.
Note to visitors: No need to prepare or bring along any material. Just bring an open mind and be yourself.
Call to Order: The club president or assigned Club Officer opens the meeting, welcomes guests, and shares the mission of Toastmasters International.
Toastmaster of the Day: The presiding host takes over to run the agenda, introduce participants, and keep the event flowing smoothly.
Meeting Roles: Members are introduced who serve specific functions, such as the Timer, Grammarian, and Ah-Counter.
Project Presentations: Two or more members deliver speeches based on projects from the educational program (Pathways).
Skill Focus: Topics vary widely, ranging from personal stories to persuasive or technical talks.
Quick Thinking: Led by the Table Topicsmaster, this segment asks members and guests (voluntarily) to speak off-the-cuff for 1 to 2 minutes on a random prompt.
Confidence Building: This part helps participants practice organizing their thoughts rapidly under pressure.
Detailed Feedback: Speech evaluators provide constructive, encouraging verbal and written feedback for each prepared speaker.
Role Reports: The Timer and Grammarian/Ah-Counter report on time usage, vocabulary, and filler words like "um" and "ah".
Adjournment: The president provides closing remarks and the meeting closes on time.
