You can use the app without creating an account, signing in, or sharing personal identity details.

This app is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the services listed inside the app. DownDetector does not operate, control, or guarantee the uptime of third-party platforms.


2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not directly collect or store the following personal information:

No sign-up, login, OTP, social login, or registration is required. Search queries and service browsing activity are processed on your device and are not saved to our servers.


3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

To provide app functionality, DownDetector stores limited local data on your device only:

This data is stored locally using Android DataStore. It is not linked to a personal account. We do not sync this data to any cloud server.


4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

DownDetector uses Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements.

Google may collect certain technical data (such as Advertising ID, device information, IP address, and ad interaction data) to serve and measure ads according to Google policies.

5. Service Status Data

Service status information, outage reports, availability charts, regional data, and user feedback shown in the app are provided for informational and monitoring purposes.

Status data displayed in the app may be simulated or locally generated for demonstration. It does not represent an official statement from any third-party service provider.

DownDetector is not responsible for the accuracy of third-party platform availability.


6. Offline Content and Network Use

Most app features — service lists, categories, favorites, settings, and status views — work with locally stored and simulated data.

Internet access is used for loading advertisements through Google AdMob and when you refresh service data.

Core app usage does not require an account. Your favorites and preferences remain on your device.


7. Sharing Content

If you use your device's share feature from a service detail page, sharing is handled by your selected apps (e.g., messaging or email apps).

We do not receive shared content unless you explicitly send it to us through a support channel you choose.


8. Third-Party Services

DownDetector uses Google AdMob for advertising.

The app does not use social login, cloud account sync, or payment gateway integrations.

Any third-party platform names, logos, or references belong to their respective owners.


9. Cookies and Tracking

The app itself does not use browser cookies.

Ad-related data processing may be handled by Google AdMob as part of ad serving and measurement.


10. Permissions

DownDetector requests Internet and network state access for advertisements and optional data refresh.

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or location for core features.

No account permission prompt is required to use the app.


11. Data Security

Because there is no user account system, there is no personal login profile stored by us.

Locally stored app data (favorites, theme settings, and notification preferences) remains on your device unless you clear app storage or uninstall the app.

DownDetector is intended for general audiences seeking service status information.

You may clear local app data anytime:
Settings → Apps → DownDetector → Storage → Clear storage

Uninstalling the app removes your favorites, theme settings, and notification preferences stored on your device.

You can manage ad personalization: Settings → Google → Ads

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Updated versions will be shown inside the app with a revised "Last Updated" date.
