Down By Law is already written, published, and being built into a larger public platform. The next step is getting it in front of a much larger audience.
Contributions fund the marketing, promotion, media production, and public outreach needed to do that—including social-media advertising, video production and distribution, press and media outreach, promotional materials, and the digital infrastructure that supports the campaign.
These funds are not intended to build a massive political machine. That machine already exists in the form of social media, digital platforms, political media networks, and online communities. The purpose of this campaign is to use that existing infrastructure to spread the word about Down By Law and put the project in front of a much larger audience.
$10,000 — Launch Campaign
A focused digital advertising and social-media campaign, promotion of existing videos and materials, additional short-form content, and targeted public outreach.
$25,000 — National Digital Campaign
Expanded advertising across multiple platforms, increased video production and distribution, more aggressive press and media outreach, and a significantly larger national audience.
$50,000 — Full Media and Outreach Campaign
A sustained national effort combining digital advertising, professional media production, public relations, press outreach, campaign materials, and broad public engagement.
These are not separate fundraising goals—they are stages. $10,000 is where we start. Everything beyond that expands the scale, reach, and duration of the campaign.
National political campaigns routinely spend tens of millions of dollars—and sometimes hundreds of millions. By comparison, Down By Law is pursuing an organic, grassroots campaign built around using existing media infrastructure efficiently rather than creating an expensive political organization from the ground up.
