Is there any way to speed things up when I have many layout tabs? It always seems, when one of my files has lots of layout tabs. it starts to slow way down when I'm switching from layout tab to layout tab. Especially when I have lots of viewports also.

A coworker has a drawing he's twisted 90 degrees with DVIEW. As a result some of the linetypes with text are upside down. Any ideas how to resolve this? I've tried REVERSE but that didn't rotate the text.

I have the same issue. I am dview/twisting my viewport so that north points more or less south. I can rotate my text and multileaders, and can switch from left to right or right to left my dimension texts, but all linetypes show upside down. I cannot reverse them, I cannot draw them the other direction, I cannot rotate them.

This issue may have nothing to do with the .LIN file. I recently received a .DGN that I converted to .DWG and some linetypes appeared mirrored. I did UCS > OBject and click on the beginning of the line. The result was an upside down ucs. It's almost like these lines were drawn from below, looking up.

Well to be honest kizaerf you don't have a high end workstation or you don't by today's standards. An Athlon II X2 is an older low end cpu with only 2 cores. Unfortunately this is where more cores make a difference in AutoCAD (2d redraws). Using PDFs in Autocad on my old Xeon based system slows it down to a snail's pace. I have the 4 core version of the Athlon II in my home box. It's not a bad unit just not high end.

I'm having a problem with my limit of work linetype in Autocad 2016. I imported it from another drawing where it looks normal but when I bring it into another drawing the text "LOW" is backwards and upside down. I have tried reversing and mirroring the polyline and have done a couple hours of searching on the internet on how to fix it only to come up empty handed. Is there a way to change the text or is it something the do with the drawing itself?

If you ever run into this without the Style definition having "effects," another possibility is that the Polyline was drawn somehow "from below" in a UCS with its Z axis aimed downward. Paste this into the command line:

@Cadologist, I'm trying your solution and it's not working for me. I'm using ACAD'22. I look in the .lin file and don't even see my linetype there. They Style is "STANDARD" and I've played around with the upside down and backwards options and it doesn't do anything. I tried the REVERSE command and it only changed the direction at which the line was drawn, but keeps the text in the linetype the same orientation. Any more suggestions?

@Cadologist @Kent1Cooper , Thank you both for your assistance. I did to the FLATTEN command and no change. Attached is a sample file with the line types I use as well as the .lin files in the support folder. I pointed to the Centerline that is giving me problems. It's upside down now because I did the DVIEW as I did in the original drawing. I've tried the remedies I've seen so far and got nothing.

Suddenly, I must have hit something, all new text added to my drawing when

using Multi-line mode is Upside down. When using single line mode new text is

backward. When looking at the properties the text is NOT shown as upside down

or backward and my text style is set to Standard and has not changed. Can

someone tell me where else I can look? This problem is isolated to the current

drawing. If I open a new drawing text is entered correctly.

The dimensions in my file are way too large to scale down. My dimensions are measurements like 4.19418e+22'-0". I'm trying to scale that height down to 10' but autocad displays an "extremely small scale factor ignored" message. How do I fix this?

Can you post an image of the issue? I think it might be caused by the plan readability bias that is set in the default template. Labels aren't considered to be upside down until they are rotated past 110 degrees (1.92 radians for you metric guys).

The confusing oart of all this is that only a certain number of them are upside down and or backwards. I have included a snap shot of the sreen as I see it. I have been creating alignments for quit some time now and never had a problem such as this. 2 months ago we upgraded to Civil 3D 2013. I wonder if ti's a bug. Maybe I'll try opening it up in my other version of 2011...hhhmm

There is a drawing with recipient XREFs wich was OK, but now everyting in model space now is seem upside down and from left to right. But when we go to Paper Space, the viewports still show the building elevations and everything correctly. The issue is only with model space and we do not know how to correct it.

Do you mean the Xrefs in the model space are upside down, or everything else in model space too? If it's just the Xrefs then is it not just different UCS's in the model your using and the files your Xeffing into it?

Using simple text files, you can configure drop-down lists (aka look-up lists) on specific block attributes and configure/flag certain tags as mandatory/required entries. This provides an enhanced user experience while also ensuring accurate data entry. With Attributor you can edit and update block tags (and tag values across multiple instances of a block) using drop down lists and configured values. By using the Attributor OSBLOCKINSERT command instead of the INSERT command the same attributed blocks are presented in a familiar user interface but with the addition of drop-down lists on the attribute tags as configured through the simple text files.
