Dover English Country Dancers was founded in 1979 by Winfried and Edith Mroz and Alex and Rosemary Apostolina.
The mission of the Dover English Country Dancers is to provide opportunities to dance and to promote quality English country dance experiences for all levels, across all ages, and for multiple personal dance interests ranging from social, cultural, community, and fitness/wellness reasons.
We, the Executive Board and membership of the Dover English Country Dancers do not and will not limit admission or access to our events, programs, and activities on the basis of any characteristic protected by law, to include but not be limited to race, sex, gender identification, sexual orientation, national origin, native language, religion, age, disability, marital status, pregnancy, genetic information, or citizenship.
English country dances are traditional social dances that originated in England during the 16th century and became popular in various forms throughout Europe and America. These dances are characterized by their lively music, patterned formations, and often involve several couples dancing together, reflecting a communal spirit.
