Doug Morter is a gifted songwriter with an incredibly beautiful voice, a tastefully experienced fingering on the guitar and a guaranteed captivating English humor - a vivid image of a true troubadour. He has traveled for over 40 years between folk clubs, venues, pubs and festivals throughout Europe.
Doug now also plays duo with Jan Schønemann who is known for his many years of involvement in the danish - Svendborg music scene. As a musician in Captain Crawfish, Rockspot, Blue Holger D m.m.
And as a board member in DMFSvendborg, in Folk For Folk and in Svendborg Forsamlingshus.
They also play with the almost legendary Henrik "Vester" Vestergaard on harp. Henrik is a genius on harp and has been used as a sideman by i.a. Troels Jensen, Keld Andersen, Ken Gudman and others.
English constellations: Doug Morter is also the anchorman in "The Auld Lads".
Doug has been involved in modern English folk music for more than a lifetime and has played in Magna Carta, Hunter Musketts and The Albion Band. Toured for 24 years with Alan Thompson (bass with Elton John)
He circled around well-known British folk rock bands such as Fairport Convention, Ralph McTell, Jethro Tull and Steeleye Span, as well as collaborating with Rock Nalle and Jens Falck.
He has for a long time played duo with Jerry Donahue, until Jerry became ill and had to give up his career.
Doug Morter is internationally known for his contribution to English folk-rock both as a guitarist and sing’n ’songwriter. He has numerous releases behind him as a member of Hunter Musketts, Magna Carta, Steeleye Span, The Albion Band, Backroom Boys with Jerry Donahue and many others.
