What is the time commitment for SCC?
Your commitment is flexible and we welcome any time you can volunteer. There is no minimum time commitment. We are happy to receive all help!
When are meetings?
Meetings are once a month September-May. The meetings are between 1-2 hours. The schedule is posted on the SCC website and social media.
Do I have to attend every meeting?
No. We are all busy parents and guardians so please attend when you can. New members are always welcome!
Do I have to join the executive to attend the meetings?
No. Any parent or guardian is welcome to attend the meetings. (However, only the executive votes on agenda items.)
The meetings are in the evening and I don't have childcare, can I bring my kids?
You sure can! Many of us bring our kids to the meetings.
Are all meetings in person?
As of now, we are planning all meetings in person in the school library. In inclement weather, we will have the option to switch to Zoom meetings and a notice will go out via social media and to all members.
What events can I help with?
Throughout the year the SCC hosts or helps with many school events.
Some of the events you can volunteer for are the SCC dances, the school book fairs, school sporting events, the Holiday Concert in December, the Treasure Sale (December) school field trips, the SCC BBQ (May or June). Occasionally the SCC will also need help with fundraisers. If you are interested, please let us know and we will add you to our list of people to contact when help is needed. Also watch for volunteer call-outs on social media and Edsby.
*Note: to volunteer you must have a current Regina Police Services record check.
