Letter of recommendation: Douglas Sexton III
March 29th, 2026
To whom it may concern,
I have had the pleasure of working with Douglas Sexton III over the past few months as the main lead in my short film RESURGENCE. Douglas is an energetic and dedicated character with a serious commitment to filmmaking in all aspects. He was extremely respectful of production timelines and always arrived with an energy that uplifted the set.
Having worked with multiple types of actors during my time as a director, I can say confidently that Douglas has an acute understanding of not only the roles that he inhabits but also his place in the film as a whole. Through this understanding, he is able to deliver performances that not only fit the scene but, more importantly, elevate the character to their purpose in the story as a whole—a talent that is rare to find and demonstrates his ability to understand a story and character beyond what is explicitly written on the page. His ability to achieve this is helped by his work behind the scenes.
In shooting our film, we had multiple complex stunt sequences that required lengthy coordination and practice. Douglas was available for every rehearsal and was engaged in collaborating with our production on every step of the process. Such a willingness to fully commit himself to his work shows that he is truly passionate about what he does and sees acting not only as an art but a responsibility.
Additionally, outside of his work as an actor, he is a kind, cheerful, and light person. I strongly believe that a film set’s success can be influenced by a million factors, but the piece that many sets live and die on is the people who are on it. Douglas was very easy to be around and made the long hours of set enjoyable, no matter what was happening. Due to this, I believe Douglas is an asset to any production he is on.
Kind Regards,
Callum Grobler

Testimonial For Douglas Sexton III
From the day of auditions to the end of production, working with Douglas on “Expectations” has been an absolute pleasure. Despite having a small part, he brought depth and authenticity to the character of “Luke,” showcasing exceptional talent and remarkable work ethic.
Throughout the production, Douglas was always prepared and made no complaints during his scenes, even when sitting for hours on end in wet grass, which made an amusing statement in the film later on. He was very cooperative and demonstrated a great sense of professionalism along with his enjoyable personality. I never had to correct or adjust his performance as it was always top-notch.
He handled both comedic and serious scenes with impressive versatility, taking the simplest dialogue and making it feel real and relatable. His performance was memorable for both me and the audience, even in a non-lead role. In fact, he was the only actor who could accurately convey the character of “Luke” during auditions, and it was clear that Douglas could easily play any part he is given.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Douglas and wholeheartedly recommend him for any future projects. His exceptional talent, dedication, and collaborative spirit make him a tremendous asset to any production. He has a remarkable ability to bring characters to life. I look forward to seeing where his career will take him and certainly plan to work with him again in the future.
Sincerely,
Telia A. Griffin

Testimonial for Dougie Sexton
I’ve had the pleasure of acting alongside, performing stunts with, and directing Dougie Sexton III. In each and every regard, Dougie is a true professional and genuine pleasure to work with. Dougie brings a great degree of commitment to every role, taking the time to know his character intimately long before cameras roll and putting every ounce of himself into it when cameras are rolling. He is extremely easy to work with and takes direction extremely well. Quite often, Dougie was the one to break the ice on set, make his fellow actors and crew members feel welcome and comfortable, and keep people charged and energetic throughout the day with his presence. Dougie is one of the most hard working, dedicated, and talented people I’ve worked with. Additionally, as a stunt performer, Dougie is the king of the safely putting 100% into his stunts and selling every hit and every fall. Anyone who gets to work with Dougie is extremely lucky.
Sincerely,
Avi Singh

Testimonial for Mr. Sexton
Mr. Sexton provided a great performance for our short film by diving into the character, acknowledging both what was written on the script and provided as notes on set. He was extremely professional, punctual, and a great joy to watch as we filmed, displaying a range of gritty authenticity that was needed through heavy dialogue. I would hope to work with him again in the future!” -
