We're decimating the cost & scale barriers to 3D printing
We're enablingย change-makers worldwide to independently solve local problems.ย

We're 3D printing from trash!
I'm writing about our progress on the re:3D Knowledge Base
In addition to building printers, re:3D is pioneering research like printing from space-waste with NASA and building an off-grid containerized recycle/print lines.
As part of the NSF Convergence project, we developed an interactive design tool that allows non-experts to design and 3D print home goods from locally-sourced recycled plastics.
The UI even displays some cool environmental metrics such as amount of plastic diverted from landfills.
We also performed a life cycle assessment to determine the cradle-to-gate environmental impact of 3D printing from waste plastic.
Our results showed that this approach has a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) than even the best-case for filament-style 3D printing, and much lower than the current status quo, injection molding.

I always have a few personal projects going on at a given time. Sometimes I finish them, but most of the time, I get bored and let them fade into the background
I'm posting them here with the hope that I, or someone else, will find them useful later
