I began tracking my time more seriously after listening to a podcast with Jim Collins. Jim keeps track of three things; time spent doing creative work, time sleeping, and the quality of his day. His rules: for every 365-day period, he must have accumulated more than 1000 hours of creative work, and for every 10-day period, he must have accumulated 70 hours of sleep.
I have found that 10-day running averages are a better feedback tool for me. I've also added measurement of my time spent doing active things (e.g. bike rides, lifting weights, etc.), my time spent outside, and my time spent with loved ones.
The charts below update automatically each day.
