How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want earbuds built specifically for sleeping on your side, choose Doubc Sleep Ear Buds; if you need a fun, giftable everyday pair you can personalize, choose ANCwear Earbuds.
They look similar at a glance — both are budget in-ear Bluetooth buds with 13mm dynamic drivers, touch controls and no headphone jack. But they were clearly designed for two very different buyers. One is a sleep tool with a lockout mode and tiny 2.5g buds. The other is a fashion accessory with a handbag-shaped case and a sheet of stickers. Here's how I'd decide between them.
• Doubc's biggest strength: It's built around sleep — a dedicated sleep mode disables the touch controls so rolling onto your side won't skip or pause your audio, and each bud weighs just 2.5g.
• Doubc's biggest trade-off: It's a single-purpose device in plain black plastic. If you want something that looks like an accessory, this isn't it.
• ANCwear's biggest strength: Personality and gifting appeal — a bright orange handbag-style case, 26 letter and cartoon stickers, and a kid/teen/adult age range.
• ANCwear's biggest trade-off: No noise control at all, and a shorter 22-hour total battery figure than Doubc's charging case.
• Pick Doubc if you're a side sleeper, a light sleeper, or you want long battery life and noise cancellation for music and calls.
• Pick ANCwear if you're buying a cheerful, customizable pair for casual listening, commuting or as a gift.
The Doubc S29 is one of the few budget buds I've seen that treats sleep as the main event rather than an afterthought. The headline feature is a sleep mode you toggle with five taps. Once it's on, all touch operations stop responding. That matters more than it sounds: if you fall asleep with music playing and roll onto your side, a normal touch-control bud will happily pause, skip or power off your audio the moment your pillow presses against it. Doubc's lockout removes that whole class of annoyance. Pair that with a 2.5g per-bud weight and an in-ear shape sized for a range of ear canals, and you get something you can plausibly wear for hours without pressure building up.
Who should buy it: side sleepers, people who listen to podcasts or sleep sounds in bed, shift workers napping with audio, and anyone who wants a long-battery everyday bud that doubles as a sleep bud. Who should skip it: if you want a case that doubles as an accessory, if you need a fashion-forward look, or if you're shopping for a younger kid — Doubc lists its age range as adult, and the sleep-mode concept assumes you're managing your own audio.
ANCwear Earbuds: Who It's For
The ANCwear pair is playing a completely different game, and it's upfront about it. The case is shaped like a mini handbag and comes in a bright orange finish — the kind of thing that's easy to find at the bottom of a backpack and easy to spot on a crowded desk. Inside the box you get 26 stickers: letter stickers for initials plus cartoon graphics, so the buyer can decorate the case themselves. That's a genuinely unusual inclusion at this end of the market, and it's the clearest signal of who this is for.
On the audio side it's a straightforward everyday bud. You get 13mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth 5.3, a 20Hz–20,000Hz frequency range and touch controls for music and calls. Impedance is 32 ohm and sensitivity is 105dB. Each bud weighs 3.5g, which is light enough to wear through a commute or a long study session without the bulky feeling setting in. Battery is 22 hours total from the case, with a 300mAh case battery and a 1.5-hour charge time. The design is described as water-resistant rather than fully waterproof, so it handles sweat and light splashes but isn't the pair I'd take swimming. The 10.1m Bluetooth range is shorter than the Doubc's 15m, which matters only if you like to leave your phone in another room.
Two things to be clear about. First, noise control is listed as None — there's no ANC and no ENC here, so these won't fight background noise on a bus or a plane the way the Doubc pair is designed to. Second, the age range is kid, teen and adult, which tells you the brand is comfortable positioning this as a younger buyer's or a gift purchase. ANCwear also advertises a 30-day return window and a 2-year sales service, with a 1-year warranty listed on the product details.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for sleep and side sleeping → Doubc Sleep Ear Buds. The sleep mode touch lockout is the single most useful feature for anyone who falls asleep wearing buds.
• Best for battery life → Doubc Sleep Ear Buds. Roughly 8 hours per charge and up to 45 hours via the case, versus 22 hours total on the ANCwear.
• Best for noise reduction → Doubc Sleep Ear Buds. Environmental Noise Cancellation is on the spec sheet; ANCwear lists noise control as None.
• Best for a gift → ANCwear Earbuds. The orange handbag case plus 26 stickers makes it a present you can hand over as-is.
• Best for kids and teens → ANCwear Earbuds. Its stated age range covers kid, teen and adult; Doubc lists adult only.
• Best for personalization → ANCwear Earbuds. Nothing on the Doubc side competes with decorating your own case.
• Best for newer Bluetooth → Doubc Sleep Ear Buds. Bluetooth 5.4 with a 15m range, versus Bluetooth 5.3 with a 10.1m range.
• Best for lighter buds → Doubc Sleep Ear Buds. 2.5g per bud against ANCwear's 3.5g.
In my opinion the Doubc Sleep Ear Buds are the better buy for most people, because they solve a real problem — accidental touch controls while you sleep — and back it up with longer battery life, noise cancellation and a newer Bluetooth version. The ANCwear pair is a good product, but its advantages are cosmetic and gift-oriented rather than functional. I'd only steer you to ANCwear if the handbag case and stickers are genuinely the reason you're buying, or if the recipient is a teen or kid. Everyone else gets more use out of the Doubc. As always, check the current price on Amazon before you commit, since that's the one thing that can flip this decision.
Yes — that's their core design goal. Each bud weighs 2.5g, and the five-tap sleep mode disables touch controls so your pillow can't accidentally pause, skip or power off your audio while you sleep.
No. The spec sheet lists noise control as None, so there's no ANC or ENC. They're best for quiet or moderate environments — studying, commuting at low volume, casual calls — rather than noisy travel.
Doubc. It's rated around 8 hours per charge with up to 45 hours from the charging case. ANCwear is rated 22 hours total from its 300mAh case. Both recharge in about 1.5 hours.
ANCwear Earbuds. The bright orange handbag-style case and the 26 included letter and cartoon stickers make it a self-contained gift, and its age range explicitly includes kids and teens. Doubc lists its age range as adult.
