This Privacy Policy describes how Dots 2 Boxes ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the App. Dots 2 Boxes is developed by waam-it.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Dots 2 Boxes does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email, or any personal profile information, and does not read your contacts, photos, or files. Local single-player and pass-and-play modes work fully offline and send no data anywhere.
2. Online Multiplayer (Nearby Connections)
The "Two players online" mode uses Google's Nearby Connections API to discover and connect to a nearby device over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. This exchange happens directly between the two devices — only game moves (which line was drawn, whose turn it is) are sent, and only to the specific device you connect to. We do not operate a server that stores or relays this data, and no game data is retained after the match ends.
3. Advertising (AdMob)
The App displays ads served by Google AdMob, a service provided by Google LLC. To show relevant ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and use data such as your advertising ID, device information, general location (derived from IP address), and app interaction data, in accordance with Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
AdMob may use this data to show personalized ads based on your interests, unless you have opted out of ad personalization in your device settings. You can review and control your ad personalization settings under Settings > Google > Ads, and reset or delete your advertising ID there at any time.
We do not control what data Google's advertising partners collect or how they use it beyond what Google's policies describe.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. The only third party involved is Google (for AdMob advertising and, during online multiplayer, the on-device Nearby Connections API, which does not send data to Google's servers).
5. Children's Privacy
Dots 2 Boxes is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If ads are shown to a child, they are handled under Google's applicable policies for child-directed treatment. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
6. Your Choices
You can play entirely offline (single-player or pass-and-play) with no data leaving your device.
You can opt out of personalized ads in your device's ad settings.
You can uninstall the App at any time, which removes all locally stored data (settings, preferences) from your device.
7. Data Retention
We do not operate our own servers or databases for this App, so we do not retain any user data ourselves. Any data related to advertising is retained by Google according to its own policies.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
