Pastor Rebecca Leatris Gordon-Nivens was born on July 10, 1978, to Evan and Jennifer Gordon and was raised in the Los Angeles area. She shares a close and loving bond with her brother, Elton Gordon. Pastor Rebecca is the proud wife of Reverend Torrence Keyon Nivens, Co-Pastor of Disciples of the Lord (DO Church). The couple was united in marriage on July 19, 2003, and they are the proud parents of two sons, Ephraim Keyon Nivens and Nehemiah Kasim Nivens, both born on July 10.
In addition to her pastoral calling, Pastor Rebecca serves as Co-Pastor of Disciples of the Lord (DO Church). She is also the Co-Founder of TK Productions Entertainment, where she serves as Executive Producer, Stage Manager, and Sound Technician, helping bring creative productions to life. Pastor Rebecca ministers through liturgical dance, touching the hearts of God’s people through expressive worship that glorifies God and encourages the body of Christ. She is also a fashion jewelry consultant with Paparazzi Accessories, operating her business UzuriPhoenixJewels.
Pastor Rebecca attended Bishop Conaty–Our Lady of Loretto High School before continuing her education at California State University, Northridge. In 2003, she graduated with a double Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Child Development. She later continued her studies at California State University, Northridge and earned a Master’s degree in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2012.
From a young age, Pastor Rebecca has been actively involved in the work of the church. She accepted her call to preach the Gospel in June 2007 and was officially ordained on April 26, 2009.
Pastor Rebecca faithfully serves in ministry by preaching the Word of God, mentoring young women and men, and teaching Bible Study and Sunday School. She previously served as Executive Pastor at Evangelistic Missionary Baptist Church in Port Hueneme, California, and continues to dedicate her life to ministry, leadership, and the spiritual development of others.
Her life and ministry are grounded in the belief that with Christ all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
Dr. Torrence Nivens is the CEO and Co-Founder of TK Productions Entertainment and a vibrant freelance writer who created two live stage plays, Mixed Nuts and This Is the Day!. Dr. Torrence graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Television, Cinema, and Art with an emphasis in Screenwriting. He later received his Master’s and Doctorate of Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia.
Dr. Torrence has written, produced, directed, and acted in more than ten theatrical plays throughout California and Georgia. As a child, Torrence appeared as an extra in Tevin Campbell’s song Tomorrow (A Better You, Better Me). As a young adult, he played a high school basketball player on the television show Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, starring Mark Curry. Torrence has also performed stand-up comedy.
Dr. Torrence is the author of the spiritual devotional study book Consecration of Conservation, which can be purchased on Amazon or by acquiring the book through direct contact.
Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Dr. Torrence discovered early in life that writing allowed his mind to escape the challenges of growing up in a difficult environment. As a young boy, he learned that just a pen and paper could take him to a world beyond the reality of the streets. His creative mind helped him develop the mindset and saying:
“No matter what we face or go through, God has given us a mind to think. Our mind can take us wherever we want to be, and if we can imagine it, we can achieve it.”
With more than 30 years of spiritual leadership in the church, community outreach, and pastoral ministry, Dr. Torrence has helped lead many people to the Lord Jesus Christ, confessing Him as their Lord and Savior. He has baptized many believers in the name of the Lord, counseled individuals and families, and officiated numerous marriages.
Dr. Torrence now looks forward to making an impact in Georgia as a disciple of the Lord, following the scripture found in Matthew 22:37-39: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… and love your neighbor as yourself.”
