The DOT SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) Program is a specialized service designed to help individuals and employers comply with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations regarding substance abuse. Under these regulations, employees in safety-sensitive positions who violate DOT drug and alcohol testing rules must undergo an evaluation and, if necessary, a treatment program overseen by a qualified SAP.
Services Offered
The DOT SAP Program plays a vital role in this compliance by providing the necessary evaluations, education, and treatment options to individuals who have violated substance abuse policies.
The Process Involved
Referral
After a DOT violation, the employee is referred to our SAP Program by their employer. This referral is the first step in ensuring that the individual receives the necessary support and guidance.
Initial SAP Evaluation
The employee undergoes an initial evaluation conducted by a certified SAP to determine the appropriate treatment plan. This evaluation is comprehensive and designed to identify the best course of action for recovery and compliance.
Treatment and Education
The employee completes the recommended treatment and education program. Our team provides ongoing support and resources to ensure that the individual has everything they need to succeed.
Follow-Up Evaluation
The SAP conducts a follow-up evaluation to assess the employee's progress and compliance with the treatment plan. This step is crucial in ensuring that the individual is ready to return to duty.
Return-to-Duty Testing
The employee undergoes a return-to-duty drug and/or alcohol test. Upon successful completion, the SAP provides documentation to the employer, confirming that the individual is fit to return to work.
Continued Monitoring
Additional follow-up testing and monitoring may be required to ensure continued compliance. Our team remains involved to provide support and ensure ongoing adherence to DOT regulations.
