Before publishing, replace [YOUR SUPPORT EMAIL] with a working contact email. When you publish this policy on Google Sites, use its public URL in the app’s Play Store listing and wherever the app provides privacy information.
This policy explains how Dose Diary handles information when you use the Android app. Dose Diary helps you keep a medicine schedule, mark doses, and record health readings. It is a personal log and reminder tool, not a medical device or a substitute for professional medical advice.
You may choose to enter medicine names, strength, form, dose amount, schedule and dose status, along with health readings such as blood pressure, blood glucose and weight. Your app preferences, including language and appearance, are also saved.
These entries are stored in the app’s private data on your device. Dose Diary does not operate an account system or a developer-operated server that receives or stores your medicine list or health readings.
If you choose to scan a medicine pack, Android’s camera captures an image into the app’s temporary cache. The app uses Google ML Kit text recognition to read text from that image and suggest a medicine name or strength. Recognition is performed on the device by the app’s text-recognition library; the app does not upload the captured image or extracted text to a Dose Diary server. You can review or edit the suggestion before saving. Temporary scan images remain in the app cache and may be removed by Android when cache space is needed; you can also clear app storage or uninstall the app.
If you enable reminders, Dose Diary schedules local Android notifications for your medicines. Notification permission is requested where Android requires it. The app may use exact-alarm access to deliver reminders at the scheduled time and receive the system’s boot notification to restore reminders after a restart. These functions use your device and do not send your medicine schedule to us.
Dose Diary displays a banner advertisement in Settings using the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) presents applicable consent and privacy choices. Ads are requested only when the SDK reports that ads can be requested, and a privacy-options entry may be available in Settings.
Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share information such as your IP address (which can be used to estimate general location), ad or app interactions, diagnostics, and device or advertising identifiers. Google uses this information for advertising, measurement, analytics and fraud prevention according to its own terms and privacy policy. The data is transmitted using encryption in transit. Dose Diary does not use a separate analytics SDK.
Google Privacy Policy
Google Mobile Ads data disclosure for Google Play
Your app data remains on your device while you keep it. Android may back up or transfer app data according to your device, Google account and Android backup settings. We do not control those operating-system backups. Deleting records in the app removes those records from the app’s local data. Clearing app storage or uninstalling Dose Diary removes its local app data from that device; copies already included in an Android or device backup may persist under the backup provider’s retention settings.
We do not sell your medicine or health entries. The app does not share those entries with us or with advertising providers. Google Mobile Ads handles the advertising-related information described above. We may disclose information if required by law, but Dose Diary has no developer-operated account or health-data server from which to retrieve your entries.
Dose Diary is intended for people managing their own medicines and health records, or assisting someone with their permission. It is not designed specifically for children, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a developer-operated service.
App entries are kept in Android’s private app storage, subject to Android device security, backups and access by anyone who can unlock or otherwise access your device. Use your device’s screen lock and backup controls to protect them. You can decline camera access and enter medicine details manually; you can manage notification and alarm permissions in Android Settings, and use the advertising privacy choices shown in the app where available.
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. We will update the effective date at the top of this page. Please review the policy from time to time.
