I am using Cyberghost 6 on a Windows 10 machine, and I've upgraded to a premium plus account. This vpn service is praised by many online reviews and many of them say that it provides a kill switch. However, I've searched a lot in the settings for this switch but couldn't find it. Anyone can help with that ? After all, what is a vpn if it wasn't for the kill switch.

There is no kill switch, you can easily test it yourself. Just make a ping to google, then close cyberghost.exe in the task manager and you will see that there is no interruption, also your network icon is not showing that it is disconnected. Cyberghost is NOT safe.

To kill a task or a process called cyberghost means nothing because the vpn don't need this elements to work ... on Linux you don't have something active and called cyberghost but the vpn works though ...A least check your IP address after killing the cyberghost.exe ...

The whole point of a Kill Switch is, for the most important example I need it for; to prevent you from being caught torrenting on your normal unsecured IP.

If the VPN isn't working or blacks out temporarily instead of continuing to torrent your connection stops totally. This is so you will never be unprotected as long as you're using Cyberghost. You paid frigging $ so you'd never be caught, whatever you were doing, Torrenting, Hacking the USA Democratic National Committee so Republicans can win, without a kill switch you can still be easily caught doing so, and be hauled in front of Mueller's team.

As was mentioned.. Open a browser or ping to the net.. Will be no interruption in your service when you kill cyberghost. I believe it's unsafe also and canceled my sub within just 24 hours of using it.

I have been trying to get the router to work with the OpenVPN setup but not having luck. I added the CA, Client, Key bits to the OpenVPN file due to they were not included with the original Cyberghost OpenVPN file from them. I was wondering what the trick is to get this to connect.

Today, I tried to access my VPN, cyberghost, but was alerted by Norton 360 that it's blocking access to Cyberghost's dashboard.exe (from which you launch a connection and whatnot). I opted to "Fix" the issue, thus removing cyberghost and pretty much any executable files. Re-installing from Cyberghost was a bit annoying, but successful. Upon opening it again, norton blocked access again.

Does anyone have any guidance for me regarding the use of Cyberghost? Is this a real threat or an over-reaction by Norton? I've been using both Cyberghost VPN AND Norton together for 2 years without issue. Is this perhaps a strategy to get me to use their VPN?

I have Cyberghost account and I use OpenVPN settings on my Openwrt since 2 years now.

I would like to switch to wireguard to increase network speed and increase security.

After a long search, I didn't found any instructions how to setup wireguard on my router using Cyberghost provider.

As you should know, actually Cyberghost has easy tutorials to setup win/linux software activating wireguard easly, but for routers you can found only OpenVPN setup informations.

Cyberghost has wireguard capabilities, but how they can be set ?

Does any Cyberghost users have wireguard setup done on Openwrt ?

@mk24 nothing more than one command line with three types of connection and a country choice.

As Openwrt requires keys, ip's and so on it is impossible to fill any informations.

Even if maybe a way exist to extract informations from a Linux setup, I would say that Cyberghost team have to share wireguard manual setup, as they did with OpenVPN.

After several tries, I'm used to find even how to install and operate correctly Cyberghost application on Ubuntu 20.04 and Kali.

In Ubuntu the app it install but it doesn't establish any connections, and from terminal no such errors to read.

In Kali the app doesn't install at all, I'm not Linux expert anyway and I gave up.

I noticed that if Cyberghost VPN is running, all my Local sites (localhost with Local by FlyWheel) are loading extremely slow (~30 secs). I tested it multiple times, tried to change settings in Cyberghost but with no result so far. If i close Cyberghost completely Local Sites are loading fast enough (~1 sec page load time)

However it sounds like the issue is to do with some sort of throttling happening with Cyberghost since Local works normally with that disabled. You might check their Help section for further assistance on the topic: -us

I have been using CyberGhost since May 2021. I am on a 3 year subscription. BEWARE that cyberghost does not work on Ubuntu versions above 20.04. I have written to the technical department and the reply was "Please don't worry since our developers are still improving our application for the Linux Operating system, and a possible app that will be compatible with all versions of Linux, might be released soon.
