Welcome to the website of the Dorset Hospitality Hash House Harriers, also known as "DH4"! The Hash House Harriers are also known as "the drinking club with a running problem". DH4 hashers meet on alternate Fridays at 7PM (Winter hashes are run by torchlight), and follow a devious trail laid down by hares. The trail, normally from a local hostelry, is a sub-60 (minutes) run (any longer, and Landlords tend to whinge if they have a full car park and no clientele!)
August 2021; More information to follow, but suffice it to say we still run and drink beer. That is all.
DH4 is back!! Following the easing of the COVID-19 cobblers.
Covid rules still apply:
Don't come if you're feeling unwell.
Do bring hand sanitiser & a mask as you see fit.
Do remember to keep your social distance.
There will be a "main" trail, with an official shortcut for walkers.
An electronic google map will be made available on request.
Checks are circles, with currently only 2 blobs and you're on. The 3rd mark will be (in general no arrows):
S for a shorter trail
L for the long route
X for an extra long loop
As we start trails from various locations (car parks/ pubs/ houses), what3words references are used extensively. (Trust me, it is easier than OS co-ordinates - get the app, its free!.)
It is intended to lay trails alternating between local to Bournemouth (on DH4 nights) & local to the New Forest (on ADH3 nights). The first 2 will be run in groups of 6 starting from 6.30pm onwards in 15 min gaps. Please follow the attached link to register your attendance.
Always looking for volunteers to hare a trail. Do please sign up.
We will get the circles up & running again as soon as possible, after these first trails in April 2021.
If any hasher finds later they have COVID-19 symptoms and tests positive, contact any one of the mismanagement. The Hash will contact all those present at the same hash, and those hashers will then need to self-isolate for two-weeks.
Social gatherings of like minded people of all ages and all social groups who enjoy drinking and running around the countryside. Created in 1938 by ex-pats living and working in Malaysia it has now spread throughout the world and you will be welcomed into the local gathering where ever you may be.
