Reactive Self-Defense Practice

Final Project for How to Make Almost Anything with Neil Gershenfeld at MIT Medialab

Kelsey Burhans and I built this reactive device to engage at-home users in self defence tactics. Using LEDs and homemade capacitive sensors embedded in a velostat-covered foam block, propped upon a heavy, detachable base, users can punch, kick, knee, or elbow the illuminated side causing a new side to light up. See how many hits you get within a minute!
