About the Author
Doughlas Remy is the author of Gay Revelations (2021), Triangles All the Way Down (2021), and Things Hidden in Plain Sight (2022). The first of these books is a memoir, and the other two are introductions to mimetic theory. His interest in mimetic theory dates back to 1978, when he attended a lecture by René Girard. He is a member of the Colloquium on Violence and Religion, founded in 1990 at Stanford University to explore, critique, and develop Girard’s theory, and he has given numerous lectures on the theory in the Seattle area.
Doughlas attended Louisiana State University and the University of Texas and earned graduate degrees in French, Italian, and Foreign Language Education. He lived for 11 years in the Middle East and returned to the US in 1990, settling in Seattle, Washington, where he worked until retirement in tech companies, community colleges, and at the University of Washington. He has also been an active and professional artist and graphic designer.
