These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Doran mobile application (“Doran”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, or using Doran, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Doran is a Korean language-learning application designed to help users learn and practice Korean vocabulary, phrases, listening, pronunciation, and related language skills.
The App may include features such as:
Vocabulary and phrase packs
Audio pronunciation
Flashcards
Quizzes
Listening exercises
Spaced repetition
Favorites
Custom words and phrases
Learning streaks
Widgets
Progress tracking
Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.
Doran is provided for educational and informational purposes only.
We aim to provide accurate and useful Korean language-learning content, but we do not guarantee that all translations, pronunciations, explanations, romanizations, examples, or other learning materials are completely accurate, exhaustive, or suitable for every context.
Language usage varies depending on region, formality, social context, age, dialect, and individual speaker.
You remain responsible for how you use any language learned through the App.
Doran may be used without creating a user account.
Learning progress, saved content, custom content, preferences, and other App information may be stored locally on your device.
You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and for any backups available through your device or operating system.
We cannot guarantee recovery of locally stored data if the App is deleted, the device is lost, data becomes corrupted, or the device is reset.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Doran for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not:
Copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, license, or commercially exploit the App or its content
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the App's source code except where permitted by law
Circumvent or interfere with security or access controls
Modify or create derivative works based on the App without permission
Use the App in a way that violates applicable law
Use automated systems to extract substantial amounts of content from the App
Misrepresent Doran content as your own product or service
Doran and its original content, including its design, branding, graphics, icons, interface, learning materials, written content, audio organization, software, and other materials, are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
No ownership rights are transferred to you by using the App.
Third-party names, trademarks, services, or content remain the property of their respective owners.
Doran may allow you to create and save your own words, phrases, notes, or other learning content.
You retain ownership of content you create.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you add does not violate applicable law or the rights of another person.
Because custom content may be stored locally on your device, we may not have access to it and may not be able to recover it if it is deleted.
Doran may offer optional paid features, one-time purchases, or subscriptions through Apple's App Store.
All purchases and payments are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's applicable terms and conditions.
Prices may vary by country, currency, tax rules, and App Store region.
If Doran offers subscriptions, subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled through your Apple account settings before the renewal date.
We do not directly process refunds for App Store purchases.
Refund eligibility and refund processing are governed by Apple's policies.
Some Doran features may be available for free, while others may require payment.
We may change which features are free or paid in future versions of the App.
Any changes will not affect rights that cannot legally be changed under applicable consumer law.
We aim to keep Doran available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The App may occasionally be unavailable or affected by:
Software bugs
Operating-system updates
Device compatibility issues
Maintenance
Third-party service interruptions
App Store changes
Technical failures
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App at any time.
We may release updates to improve functionality, security, compatibility, content, or performance.
Some updates may be necessary for continued use of the App.
Older versions may stop functioning correctly after changes to operating systems or third-party services.
Doran may rely on third-party services, including Apple services and analytics providers.
Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the availability, operation, or policies of third-party services that we do not control.
Your use of Doran is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Doran is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that:
The App will always be available
The App will be free from errors or bugs
All language content will be completely accurate
Using the App will produce a particular learning result
The App will meet every user's individual learning needs
All features will remain available permanently
Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from your use of or inability to use Doran.
This includes, where legally permitted, loss of data, loss of learning progress, device-related issues, or reliance on language content provided by the App.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
You are responsible for:
Using the App lawfully
Protecting access to your device
Maintaining appropriate device backups where needed
Verifying important translations or language usage when accuracy is critical
Managing your App Store purchases and subscriptions
Doran should not be relied upon as the sole source of translation or interpretation in medical, legal, emergency, financial, or other high-risk situations.
You may stop using Doran at any time by deleting the App.
We may restrict or terminate access to the App if necessary to protect the App, comply with legal obligations, or address misuse.
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms when the App, its features, legal requirements, or business practices change.
When these Terms are updated, the “Last updated” date will be revised.
Continued use of Doran after updated Terms become effective means the updated Terms apply to your subsequent use of the App, subject to applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of Doran, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you retain any mandatory consumer protections provided by applicable law.
If you download Doran through Apple's App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple.
Apple is not responsible for the App or its content except to the extent required under Apple's applicable App Store terms or applicable law.
Apple and its subsidiaries may be third-party beneficiaries of these Terms where required by Apple's standard App Store conditions.
