The Door's Open Therapy

Our counselors are LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodivergence informed; some of us have lived experience in these areas. We are committed to cultural humility and culturally informed care grounded in a multicultural orientation framework. Our counseling philosophy is rooted in the belief that a strong therapeutic alliance is essential to achieving positive outcomes. We believe that effective counselors are trained in and utilize multiple modalities because therapy is not one-size-fits-all.

Whether you are experiencing grief, trauma (religious or otherwise), anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, questions about self-identity, relationship issues, or just struggling to navigate a neurotypical world with a neurodivergent brain, our counselors will work with you to overcome the obstacles that keep you from being your favorite self.

Some people have tried therapy before and have had negative experiences that make therapy feel scary or uncomfortable. At this practice, we’ll work at your pace and comfort level to ensure that your experience is positive, affirming, and empowering. You can be assured that you will be accepted as you are with a focus on helping you achieve your identified goals. And if you aren’t sure what those goals are? We can work together to figure them out.
