Patrolling outside of the base includes patrolling to the NE outpost near the waterwall and patrolling to the NW outpost, as well as the roads between them.
You must have at least 1 NCO in your patrol party, and you must have a battle buddy at all times. This means the minimum patrol size is 2 people.
