Thank you for using Doodle Kolam.
Doodle Kolam is a drawing studio for creating kolam-style designs on a customisable dot grid on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your designs are stored on your device.
GETTING STARTED
• Open the app to see your library. A Welcome kolam may appear on first launch.
• Tap + to create a new design, or open a design to draw.
• The tool button cycles: Pen → Eraser → Fill → Pan → Pen.
• Use the More (⋯) menu for Dot Grid, Stroke, Eraser, Fill, Export, Rename, and Clear Drawing.
• Pinch to zoom. Two-finger drag (or trackpad scroll on Mac) pans the canvas. Reset View restores zoom and pan.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Where are my designs saved?
On your device. There is no account and designs are not uploaded to our servers.
How do I export a kolam?
Open a design → More (⋯) → Export… → choose PNG or JPEG → share or save with the system share sheet.
Can I change the dot grid?
Yes. More (⋯) → Dot Grid. You can change size, customise which dots are on, choose fill shapes, and pick a rice-flour or charcoal ground.
How do I fill a shape with colour?
Draw a closed loop with the Pen, switch to Fill, optionally set the colour under More → Fill…, then tap inside the loop.
I deleted a design by mistake.
Deleted designs cannot be recovered from our side because we do not keep a cloud copy. If you use device backups, you may be able to restore from your own backup.
